From handling pens, filling in our papers, and strengthening our shaky voices to read every alphabet to embracing the beauty of Algebra, Biology, and History, a well-known group of individuals trained and solidified our knowledge essential for living, and these are our educators.
Educators – one word yet a powerful fire that could lighten up the vast darkness, leading everyone to position themselves on the right path. These people have been the bridge for us to attain different milestones, from pre-school up until our highest education.
They impart more than just common knowledge; life lessons can be explicitly accumulated by simply listening to every word that has been released from their souls. Yet, despite their substantial existence, complications arise in their occupation, worsening uncertainties.
The Philippines' system does not spare our educators from the rapidly increasing complications. From being underpaid to having the scarcity of job opportunities, irrelevant administrative tasks, inadequacy of performance appraisal, and mismatch of job roles as such, an educator's job is no seamless one as their job description has gone beyond the walls.
However, despite these uncertainties, our educators remained genuine in guiding and gearing up every young individual towards transcendence, which is evident in UP Cebu.
UP Cebu is privileged to have not solely witty and knowledgeable educators whom UP's quality education was rooted, but also compassionate teachers who cater to and value the well-being of every Iskolar ng Bayan.
From the educational conversations inside the halls of UP Cebu to going out together with the youths on the streets to stand for the truth, our educators have also been our companions towards attaining a better nation. These individuals sometimes go beyond their job description, signifying their intent to be with the people and serve the people.
As we commemorate World Teachers’ Day 2025, DYUP Sugbo would like to extend our warm greetings and deep gratitude to every educator in our society for the knowledge, values, wisdom, and support that you have showered to every aspirant in our community.
Words are not enough to express the joy in our hearts with the things that all of you have done for our society, ensuring that every person in the classroom grows and goes beyond what they can do. Each lesson you taught, words you released, and guidance you imparted will infinitely be entangled in our hearts and minds.
Undoubtedly, every one of us carries capabilities that could take us anywhere, but it is our educators who fuel the desire within us to take a leap, aim for the stars, and go beyond the horizons.
