IN PHOTOS: The University Student Government (USG) led the first Cavite Youth Summit which brought student leaders and youth representatives together from various state universities, colleges, and private institutions in the province.
The event was held last June 7, 2025 at the Ugnayang La Salle with the theme: "Young Leaders for Students’ Rights and Welfare (STRAW)".
It also featured two keynote speeches, a panel discussion with selected student leaders, and a presentation of the STRAW Bill.
Hon. Chelsea Sarno, President of the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation of Cavite, headlined the summit with her talk about the realities and challenges of Cavite-based institutions and their students.
The second keynote speech featured Atty. Carlo Africa, Executive Director of Hiraya. He outlined the legal foundations of students’ rights and mechanisms for advocacy.
The event closed with the presentation and consultation of the STRAW Bill (House Bill No. 2190) led by Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP) Luzon Vice Chairperson Alvin Sagabaen. He called for the youth to continue advocating for the passage of the bill.
