IN PHOTOS: The University Student Government (USG) led the first Cavite Youth Summit which brought student leaders and youth representatives together from various state universities, colleges, and private institutions in the province.

The event was held last June 7, 2025 at the Ugnayang La Salle with the theme: "Young Leaders for Students’ Rights and Welfare (STRAW)".

It also featured two keynote speeches, a panel discussion with selected student leaders, and a presentation of the STRAW Bill.

Hon. Chelsea Sarno, President of the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation of Cavite, headlined the summit with her talk about the realities and challenges of Cavite-based institutions and their students.

The second keynote speech featured Atty. Carlo Africa, Executive Director of Hiraya. He outlined the legal foundations of students’ rights and mechanisms for advocacy.

The event closed with the presentation and consultation of the STRAW Bill (House Bill No. 2190) led by Student Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP) Luzon Vice Chairperson Alvin Sagabaen. He called for the youth to continue advocating for the passage of the bill.

This month of June, we proudly raise our voices and our flags in celebration of love, identity, and the vibrant diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Pride Month is a powerful reminder of the courage it takes to live authentically, the strength found in unity, and the beauty of embracing who we truly are. 🤝🥰

Let us continue to advocate for a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued, regardless of who they love or how they identify. 🌏🫶

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

The event started with a parade from the University Lane until the Grandstand. Throughout the event, concessions offered free refreshments and snacks such as taho, ice cream, and drinks. A live sketching booth and photobooth were also available.

There were also various contests like the Battle of the Bands, Art and Photography Competition, Vogue Runway Challenge, and K-Pop Random Dance Challenge.

It also featured singer and songwriter Johnoy Danao who performed his hit song “Ikaw At Ako” along with a cover of “Burnout” and his other original compositions.

The celebration ended with an advocacy speech from Sarah Elago of Gabriela Women’s Party.
