Civil Engineering students participated in a game of 'Bring Me' and 'Show Me Your Talent,' where they showcased their vibrant energy and unwavering determination, it revealed their hidden artistry and unique perspectives. They are not just engineers— they are innovators, problem-solvers, and compassionate leaders who are ready to leave a big impact on the world, one groundbreaking creation at a time."

𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮, Current and Outgoing President of PICE-UCU-SC, introduces the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – Urdaneta City University Student Chapter (PICE-UCU-SC) during the 1st General Assembly & Orientation Program for BS in Civil Engineering.

He shared insights about the organization, its exclusive role for Civil Engineering students, and the many opportunities it provides, including:
🔹 Discounts on review centers and technical seminars
🔹 Access to printers, projectors, and review materials
🔹 Tutorial services and student support programs
🔹 Exciting activities such as CE Day 2025 featuring bridge building and quiz bees
🔹 Partnerships with review centers that helped 161 students graduate last year — earning funds that provided free printing services for CE students

He also emphasized that membership requires only a ₱100 contribution to enjoy these benefits and privileges.

Closing his talk with inspiration, he reminded everyone: “Behind every boulder in the road of life is pure gold.”

Key points highlighted include:
🔹 Retention Policy in BS Civil Engineering
🔹 RA 10931 & RA Scholar Retention Policy — “Pwede ka pa bumalik sa RA once na natanggal ka, only one chance.”
🔹 Grading System — explaining how grades are computed
🔹 Academic Honesty — upholding integrity in all academic work
🔹 Attendance Policy — “Missing more than 20% of classes will result in an automatic F for the course.”
🔹 Course Policies — setting standards and expectations for students

In a lighthearted moment, he joked: “Okay lang maging favorite ang red, huwag lang magkaroon ng color red sa grade.”

His reminders stress not only the rules but also the responsibility of every Ka-Inhinyero to maintain discipline, integrity, and excellence throughout their academic journey.

Urdaneta City University’s (UCU) College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) successfully executed the CEA Research Orientation held at the UCU amphitheater, Friday, September 05, 2025.

The event primarily aimed to equip fourth-year students with essential skills and information for their Thesis Proposals, covering research policies and guidelines on agenda alignment, ethical considerations, citation practices, and the research process.

The CEA Dean, Engineer Lorena Angulo, formally commenced the program with opening remarks that powerfully reinforced CEA's core values. This was followed by inspirational messages from Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Josephine S. Lambinicio and Director of the Center for Research and Development Dr. Noel L. Guevara.

The program proceeds with the discussion about the Research Guidelines, Policy and Ethics by Engineer. Ficer M. Dofredo, expanding the students' knowledge about the format of research and citation. Afterwards, CEA Research Coordinator, Engineer Irene F. Salvador closed the program by encouraging students to stay ethical, passionate and strive for impactful and excellent research.

The conducted Research Orientation is not about just words, discussions, and presentations. It gives the students the knowledge they need for them to be great innovators and creators for change. By giving them the proper nurture in this topic, they can execute remarkable research that the future generation will benefit.
