The City Government of Valenzuela and San Miguel Corporation signed the official deed of donation of the 4300 sqm lot for the expansion of Gen. Tiburcio de Leon National High School.
Ms. Cecile L. Ang, Chairman of San Miguel Foundation, represented the President and CEO of Top Frontier Investment Holdings, Inc., Mr. Ramon S. Ang, during the ceremony.
In her speech, Ms. Ang highlighted San Miguel's commitment in helping build communities through education.
"So, this donation of 4300 sqm of land for the expansion of Gen. Tiburcio de Leon National High School further proves San Miguel's commitment to investing in future generations. Our vision is that every child and young person, regardless of background, progresses as far as possible in life through education", she said.
Mayor Wes Gatchalian expressed his gratitude, highlighting that the donation of 4000 sqm of land was no small act of kindness.
"Our promise, Ma'am Cecile, itong property ay gagamitin into good use. With your vision in education, with the vision of the City Government of Valenzuela ay ito pong lupa ay mabibigyan po ng tahanan ang ating mga estudyante sa Gen. T. de Leon National High School", Mayor Wes added.
In the said lot will rise two school buildings with 32 classrooms, and a possible amphitheater for school and community events.
The ceremonial signing of the deed of donation was attended by the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Noel A. Bagano; Gen. Tiburcio de Leon National High School Schoolhead, Mr. Eddie A. Alarte; former GTDLNHS schoolhead, Dr. Cesar C. Villareal; school administrators, PTA officers, and parents.
"From all of us here in Valenzuela, we thank RSA and SMC. This not just a piece of land, Ma'am, this is hope for our learners", Dr. Bagano said in his words of gratitude.
