The Broken Gift
A young boy loved his mother deeply. One day, he wanted to surprise her with a special gift—a small glass heart he bought with his saved coins.
As he rushed home, he stumbled, and the glass heart shattered. Heartbroken, he gathered the broken pieces and cried. He didn’t want to disappoint his mother, but he also didn’t want to hide the truth.
So he placed the broken pieces in a small box and gave it to her.
“Mom… I’m sorry. This was supposed to be beautiful. I wanted to show you how much I love you.”
The mother opened the box, saw the shattered heart, and hugged him tightly.
She said,
“Son, your love is still whole, even when the gift is broken.”
Moral:
God feels the same way. Even when we come with a broken heart, a messy life, or imperfect love, He receives us with open arms. He looks beyond the broken pieces and sees the sincerity of our love.
“A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.” — Psalm 51:17
