‎May mga kuwentong isinusulat sa papel. May mga kuwentong ipinapaanod sa himpapawid. Ngunit may mga pagkakataong ang dalawang ito ay nagtatagpo upang maging iisang tinig na tagapaghatid ng katotohanan.

‎Sa pagdiriwang ng ika-70 anibersaryo ng Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST), nitong Hulyo 1, 2026, sa loob ng kampus. Isang makabuluhang kolaborasyon ang namayani nang magsanib-puwersa ang The Escribi, official publication ng College of Teacher Education (CTE) at College of Liberal Arts (CLA) at ang 106.7 Marino News FM, himpilang pangradyo na pinamamahalaan ng Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST). Isang pagtatagpong nagbuklod sa tinta at tinig, upang sama-samang maihatid ang bawat mahalagang pangyayari sa selebrasyon sa buong pamayanang ZSCMSTians.

‎Pinangunahan ni Mrs. Jewel Reyes ang pangkat ng 106.7 Marino News FM, katuwang ang mga mamamahayag ng The Escribi sa pagbibigay ng real-time na impormasyon, panayam, dokumentasyon, at mga kuwentong sumasalamin sa pitumpung taong paglalayag ng institusyon. Sa magkaibang anyo ng pamamahayag—nakasulat at pasalita—iisa ang kanilang layunin: tiyaking walang mahalagang sandaling lilipas nang hindi naitatala at naipararating sa buong komunidad ng ZSCMST.

‎Sa bawat pag-ikot ng kamera at paghawak sa mikropono nabuo ang isang larawang sumasalamin sa tunay na diwa ng pamamahayag—ang maging saksi sa kasaysayan habang ito ay nagaganap. Habang ang The Escribi ay maingat na naghahabi ng mga salita sa bawat balita at tampok na artikulo, binibigyang-buhay naman ng 106.7 Marino News FM ang mga ito sa pamamagitan ng tinig na umaabot sa iba't ibang sulok ng pamantasan.

‎Hindi lamang ito naging pagsasanib ng dalawang media platform. Isa itong pagpapatunay na ang pamamahayag ay walang kinikilalang hangganan. Maaaring magkaiba ang kanilang daluyan, ngunit iisa ang kanilang direksiyon: ang ihatid ang katotohanan nang may integridad, ang itampok ang mga kuwentong dapat marinig, at ang gawing buhay ang bawat sandaling magiging bahagi ng kasaysayan ng pamantasan.

‎Sa likod ng bawat ulat ay mga kabataang mamamahayag at tagapagbalita na pinagbubuklod ng iisang adhikain—ang maglingkod. ‎Hindi lahat ng kuwento ay isinasalaysay sa pamamagitan ng mga salita. Ang ilan ay iginuguhit sa mga dingding, hinahabi sa bawat dekorasyon, at nasasalamin sa mga ngiting buong pagmamalaking ipinapakita ng mga taong nasa likod ng mga ito. ‎Bawat kulay, disenyo, at detalyeng maingat na inihanda ay nagsilbing larawan ng dedikasyon ng mga mag-aaral, g**o, at kawani ng iba't ibang kolehiyo, opisina, at organisasyon na naglatag ng kani-kanilang mga booth—hindi lamang upang makiisa sa pagdiriwang, kundi upang ipamalas ang kanilang pagkamalikhain, pagkakaisa, at pagmamalaki sa institusyon. Kabilang sa mga lumahok ang Cluster 1 College of Teacher Education (CTE), Cluster 2 National Service Training Program (NSTP), Cluster 3 College of Fisheries and Allied Sciences (CFAS), Cluster 4 College of Marine Engineering (CME), Cluster 5 College of Business Management (CBM), Cluster 7 Administration, Cluster 8 Vice President for Student and Academic Affairs(VPSAS), Cluster 9 College General Services Office (CGSO) Registrar, at Supply at Cluster 10 (Alumni Association). Higit pa sa mga materyales na ginamit, ang tunay na halaga ng bawat booth ay nasasalamin sa bawat ngiti, pagtutulungan, at pusong inilaan ng bawat isa habang buong pagmamalaking ipinapakilala ang kanilang likha sa mga bisita.

‎Sa pagdiriwang ng pitumpung taong paglilingkod at tagumpay, ang bawat booth ay naging tahimik na saksi sa isang pamayanang patuloy na lumilikha ng kasaysayan—isang pamayanang may pusong nagkakaisa, may pagmamalaki sa nakaraan, at may matatag na pananaw para sa kinabukasan.

Ipinagdiwang ng Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) ang ika-70 anibersaryo nito sa pamamagitan ng isang grand opening at ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Ginanap ang nasabing okasyon noong ika-1 ng Hulyo 2026, alas-onse ng umaga, sa ZSCMST School Ground. Nagsimula ang programa sa isang opening prayer, sinundan ng pag-awit ng “Lupang Hinirang” sa pamamagitan ng audio-visual presentation, at pagkilala sa iba’t ibang booth. Nagbigay rin ng opening message si Dr. Roy L. Velasco, Pangulo ng institusyon, kung saan kanyang sinabi:

“Isang magandang kinabukasan ang naghihintay para sa ZSCMST, kung saan ang mga alaala ng samahan, pagkakaisa, at pagmamahal ay magsisilbing pundasyon ng paaralan.”

Dinaluhan ang selebrasyon ni Congresswoman ng District 1 Katrina Kat-Chua, kasama si Dr. Evelyn B. Campos former Quality Management Representative.
at iba pang mga opisyal ng paaralan, mga g**o, mag-aaral, alumni, at mga panauhing pandangal upang gunitain ang pitong dekada ng kahusayan sa edukasyon at paglilingkod sa komunidad.

Matapos magpahayag ng kanyang talumpati si Congresswoman Katrina “Kat” Chua, muling ipinahayag ni Dr. Roy L. Velasco ang opisyal na pagsisimula ng selebrasyon at mga aktibidad. Agad namang tumungo ang mga panauhin sa unang arko malapit sa school gate ng paaralan upang isagawa ang ribbon-cutting ceremony, kasama si Congresswoman Chua at iba pang mga opisyal at panauhin.

Ayon sa pamunuan ng paaralan, ang selebrasyon ay sumisimbolo sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng institusyon, lalo na sa larangan ng marine sciences at teknolohiya. Inaasahan ding magkakaroon ng iba’t ibang aktibidad bilang bahagi ng mas malawak na pagdiriwang ng ika-70 (pitumpung) anibersaryo ng ZSCMST.

Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) came alive with loud resounding horns of participating vehicles as the institution officially commenced the celebration of its 70th Founding Anniversary through a grand motorcade at exactly 9:00 a.m. today.

The motorcade marked the beginning of the long awaited festivities, bringing together students, faculty members, administrators, and staff in a vibrant display of school spirit and unity.

Leading the procession was the ZSCMST Drum and Lyre, Cluster, setting the pace for the celebration. Following closely were representatives from the different academic units of the college, including the College of Teacher Education (CTE), College of Liberal Arts (CLA), College of Fisheries and Allied Sciences (CFAS), College of Marine Engineering (CME), College of Business and Management (CBM), and the Graduate School headed by the Committee leader Sir. Ernie Morales.

The procession was concluded by the college administrators, who joined the activity in support of the institution's milestone celebration.

The Escribi officially joined the Special Coverage Team of Radyo Marino 106.7 News FM on June 30, 2026, in preparation for the series of live news coverages to be conducted from July 1 to July 2, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 70th Founding Anniversary of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST).

This collaboration aims to strengthen public trust, transparency, and unity within the ZSCMST community while providing student journalists with a valuable platform to enhance and apply their knowledge, skills, and talents in campus journalism. It also offers them a rare opportunity to experience live radio broadcasting under the guidance of Mrs. Jewel Reyes, News Desk of Radyo Marino 106.7 News FM, and Prof. Roland Lamata, Escribi Adviser.

Prior to the official coverage, Mrs. Reyes conducted a "Baptism of Fire" orientation and simulation, where members were tasked to practice delivering their live radio outro scripts. She provided constructive feedback, practical techniques, and professional advice to help the participants improve their confidence, diction, and on-air presence while maintaining accuracy and credibility in news reporting.

Through this partnership, Escribi and Radyo Marino 106.7 News FM reaffirm their shared commitment to delivering timely, accurate, and responsible news coverage throughout the celebration of ZSCMST's 70th Founding Anniversary. More importantly, this initiative serves as a meaningful learning experience for aspiring campus journalists and broadcasters, marking another milestone in promoting professionalism, public trust, transparency, and unity within the ZSCMST community.

The Escribi actively participated in “iSTORIA: Conversations that create leaders youth empowerment workshop” held at the Ateneo De Zamboanga University Lantaka Campus spearheaded by the Union of Students for the Advancement of Democracy—Ateneo de Zamboanga (USAD—ADZU) an accredited organization of the Local Youth Development Council of Zamboanga City (LYDC), last June 26, 2026 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 in the evening.

Youth empowerment workshop aims to provide a platform for student leaders and youth participants to actively participate in meaningful discussions and capacity-building activities on leadership, democratic participation, and collective empowerment. The project workshop is supported by the Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC) under the LeaP program in partnership with Education Academic Organization (EAO) of ADZU.

Moreover, The student leaders and youth participants were able to express and socialize overcoming anxiety that is evident on their confidence while performing during the workshop activities and collaboration hence, every conversation raises awareness of the youth in current issues in governance with their different propagandas that highlights accountability, transparency, democracy, and unity among youth.

Overall, iSTORIA: Conversations that create leaders youth empowerment workshop become a pathway where youth leaders can raise their concerns, become the voice of unity, accountability, and transparency in our government; the event was attended by different organizations under the LYDC.
