DO WE REALLY KNOW LOVE?

As it is written, "perfect love casts out fear." When the disciples came to understand the true value of love, they became bold and fearless. The same will happen to every Christian. I know it's hard to take the first step or even the second or third, but as we grow in love with Him, something is built within us. This happens in our private lives.

I know what love is, but not yet as deeply as offering my life for the sake of others. Yes, we sacrifice for our loved ones but what about our enemies or those we deeply dislike? Can we do that? it's hard.

I say, we say “I love You, Lord,” but often fail to act on it, just like Peter, when Jesus asked him three times, “Do you love Me?” (John 21:15-17)

But I find hope in the fact that as the 12 disciples of Jesus continued to obey and walk with God, they developed that love, that rare love. And that is our only hope: to know Jesus, the Word of God.

What matters most is who we are when no one is watching. That is the character God wants to transform. Anyone can pretend. Anyone can hide. But it's an act of hypocrisy. Sad to says but that's the reality everyone is pretending to be spiritually ok even its not.

However, when we continue to seek God personally, asking for His ways and His will through His Word, one day we will truly understand what love means.

Disciples personal relationship with Him deepened their faith and dependence on Him. That even wherever the Spirit of God led them they follow, whether to comfort or to suffering, to life or to death.
