چیخنا چلانا سے متعلق الفاظ، معانی اور جملوں میں استعمال:-

He was yelling at his son. وہ اپنے بیٹے پر چیخ رہا تھا۔
Shouting
اونچی آواز میں بولنا / پکارنا
She was shouting for help. وہ مدد کے لیے پکار رہی تھی۔
Hollering
بہت زور سے چلانا / پکارنا
He was hollering my name. وہ میرا نام زور زور سے پکار رہا تھا۔
Cheering
خوشی سے نعرے لگانا / حوصلہ بڑھانا
The fans were cheering for their team. شائقین اپنی ٹیم کا حوصلہ بڑھا رہے تھے۔
Yelping
درد، خوف یا اچانک تکلیف میں چھوٹی تیز چیخ مارنا
The dog was yelping in pain. کتا درد سے چیخ رہا تھا۔
Screening
یہاں غالباً آپ کا مطلب Screaming ہے = چیخنا / چلانا
She was screaming loudly. وہ زور زور سے چیخ رہی تھی۔

Yelling → ییلِنگ /ˈjelɪŋ/
Shouting → شاؤٹِنگ /ˈʃaʊtɪŋ/
Cheering → چیئرِنگ /ˈtʃɪərɪŋ/
Yelping → ییلپِنگ /ˈjelpɪŋ/
Hollering → ہالَرِنگ /ˈhɑːlərɪŋ/
Screaming → سکریمِنگ /ˈskriːmɪŋ/
اہم فرق:
Shout عام طور پر صرف اونچی آواز میں بولنا ہے۔
Yell میں غصہ/زور زیادہ ہو سکتا ہے۔
Scream میں خوف، درد یا شدید جذبات کی تیز چیخ شامل ہوتی ہے۔
Cheer خوشی اور حوصلہ افزائی کے لیے ہوتا ہے۔
Yelp اچانک درد یا خوف کی مختصر چیخ ہے۔
Holler بہت زور سے پکارنے کا informal لفظ ہے۔

What is the FLOSS rule?
When a one-syllable word:
has a short vowel sound, and
ends in f, l, s, or z,
we often double the final consonant: ff, ll, ss, zz.
1. F → FF
off → short o + ff
puff → short u + ff
cliff → short i + ff
sniff → short i + ff

What does “short vowel” mean?

⚠️ Important exceptions

Some one-syllable words end in f, l, s, or z but do not double the final letter:
bus — not buss
gas — not gass
yes — not yess

So, FLOSS is a spelling guideline, not a rule without exceptions.
Easy way to remember

F L O S S
Think:
Short vowel + F, L, S, Z → usually double the last letter.
For example:
hop → hopping
sit → sitting
run → running

But FLOSS itself is specifically about words ending in F, L, S, or Z, such as:
off, bell, miss, buzz.

۔ Light expression کے ساتھ استعمال ہونے والے چار اہم الفاظ، ان کا فرق مثالوں سے یوں سمجھیں:
1. See the light
معنی: حقیقت جان لینا / صحیح بات سمجھ آ جانا
English: After many years, he finally saw the light and admitted his mistake.
اردو: کئی سال بعد آخرکار اسے حقیقت کا ادراک ہوا اور اس نے اپنی غلطی تسلیم کر لی۔
ایک اور مثال:
I hope you will see the light one day.
مجھے امید ہے کہ ایک دن آپ کو حقیقت سمجھ آ جائے گی۔
2. Bring to light
معنی: کسی چھپی ہوئی بات، حقیقت یا راز کو ظاہر/منکشف کرنا
English: The investigation brought the truth to light.
اردو: تحقیقات نے حقیقت کو ظاہر کر دیا۔
ایک اور مثال:
The journalist brought several hidden facts to light.
صحافی نے کئی پوشیدہ حقائق سامنے لے آئے۔
3. In the light of
معنی: کسی حقیقت، معلومات یا حالات کی روشنی میں / مدِنظر رکھتے ہوئے
English: In the light of recent evidence, the decision was changed.
اردو: حالیہ شواہد کی روشنی میں فیصلہ تبدیل کر دیا گیا۔
ایک اور مثال:
We should reconsider our plan in the light of these circumstances.
ہمیں ان حالات کو مدِنظر رکھتے ہوئے اپنے منصوبے پر دوبارہ غور کرنا چاہیے۔
4. Shed light on
معنی: کسی معاملے کو واضح کرنا / کسی راز یا مسئلے پر روشنی ڈالنا
English: The new evidence shed light on the mysterious case.
اردو: نئے شواہد نے پراسرار معاملے کو واضح کرنے میں مدد دی۔
ایک اور مثال:
Can you shed some light on this issue?
کیا آپ اس مسئلے کو واضح کر سکتے ہیں؟
