This post is dedicated to my father, a man who built his legacy quietly, long before social media existed.
In the days when there were no proper roads, no technology, no transport facilities, he served in the District Registration Office (later NADRA) for over 30β40 years. He walked miles on foot, traveled to remote homes, and personally ensured people received their identification cards even in the 80s and before, when everything required effort, patience, and heart.
He was not in a big designation. He always said, βI was at a junior position, but I worked with a big heart.β
And he truly did.
People still remember how he would not only help them with their documents but also offer them tea and lunch. Service for him was never just duty; it was humanity.
He used to walk long distances to Rawalakot, sometimes on foot, sometimes catching a wagon after miles of walking. Those were difficult times. Yet he gave all of us education, dignity, and the strength to stand independently today.
He taught us three things, repeatedly:
Never speak a lie.
Do your best.
Discipline. Discipline. Discipline.
He always said, βYour manners reflect who you are. Treat people well.β
Today, seeing people appreciate him publicly without him ever having WhatsApp or social media fills my heart with honor. His respect was earned offline, in real life, through integrity and service.
We are who we are because of him.
And we aspire to carry his values forward.
