Sister Zeph, a Pakistani teacher, has been awarded the prestigious Global Teacher Prize for 2023, receiving a prize of $1 million. Her remarkable journey began when she was just 13 years old, as she founded a school for underprivileged children in her home's courtyard.

She worked tirelessly, funding the school through eight-hour workdays, teaching pupils for four hours, and even dedicating her nights to self-learning. Over the span of 26 years, the school has grown from its modest beginnings to a new building, providing free education to over 200 disadvantaged children.

Sister Zeph's plans for the prize money include constructing a school on a four-hectare campus to educate the poorest children in Pakistan without discrimination, as well as establishing a shelter for orphans and inviting teachers from around the world to provide classes.
