This prayer is named after a friend of Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him). However, in a book called Mafatih ul-Jinan, it says that Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) actually said this prayer when his friend Safwan was there, not Alqamah. So, we can also call this prayer "Dua to be recited after Ziyarah Ashura" or "Dua Safwan."
