The Valley of Chitral - a formerly princely state and at present divided into two administrative districts - lies at the north of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. After loosing a large segment of its territory to the state of Afghanistan under Durand Line settlement,and another to the Gilgit Baltistan,the valley in width and breath, still stretches over an area of 14850 Square Kilometers. The complex topography of the Valley, divides it into many sub-valleys, wherein evolved a beautiful cluster of distinct cultures and different languages, which in number are more than a dozen. Amidst this unique and multiplying diversity, the people of the valley came out to be gifted with extraordinary wealth of talent. This is well justified and validly proved in the known human history of the region, which spans in more than three thousand years.
Though the people of Chitral have already proved their mettle at local, national and international level, much of the teaming talent in them still remains neglected, unexplored and unexpressed. History proves that in the midst of elevated mountains of Hindukush, individuals with exceptional talent have been buried unacknowledged and still perishing without finding ways to lead.
It is keeping in mind the aspirations of such neglected, backward and hesitant individuals from the far off Chitral, that an initiative has been taken to support the precious but unacknowledged talent in them.The firm aims at providing an ambience of matchless creativity and exceptional performance in a series of fields from language to literature to theology to Art to Music to Humour to handicrafts to Education to Buisness and Sports. The organisation envisions to pursue its goals through career counseling workshops, seminars, conferences, Conventions, mushairas, sports galas, and cultural shows.
The hope remains intact that people of Chitral, emerging from the local mountainous hamlets of the valley, would take a lead at national and international levels, with suave support from the organisation, which is the only cause behind the establishment of the Chitral Indigenous Talent Promoters (CITP).
