وہ محبت تھی ،ناجائز نہیں، نکاح کے بندھن میں بندھی ہوئی، عزت سے جڑی، اور قانون سے تسلیم شدہ۔
مگر شاید ہمارے سماج میں محبت سے بڑا جرم کوئی اور نہیں۔
ایک بیٹی صرف بیٹی نہیں، ایک جیتی جاگتی، سانس لیتی، خواب دیکھتی انسان
جس نے کسی اور کی مرضی کے بجائے اپنی مرضی سے زندگی کا فیصلہ کیا
اس پر غیرت کے وہ گناہ لاد دیے گئے جن کے بوجھ تلے نہ اس کا جسم بچا، نہ روح۔

چادر میں لپٹی شیتل، ہاتھ میں قرآن لیے، ان کے سامنے سر جھکائے نہیں، سینہ تان کر کھڑی تھی۔
اسے معلوم تھا انجام،
مگر اس نے سوال نہیں کیا، بھیک نہیں مانگی، رحم کی اپیل نہیں کی۔
وہ صرف اتنا کہہ سکی کہ صرف گولی مارنے کی اجازت ہے۔
اسے نو گولیاں ماری گئیں۔
کیونکہ شیتل صرف ایک عورت نہیں تھی، وہ ان کی انا پر وار تھی۔
پھر زرک کی باری آئی۔
اسے اٹھارہ گولیاں ماری گئیں۔
شاید اس لیے کہ وہ مرد ہو کر عورت کی مرضی کا ساتھ دینے کی ہمت کر بیٹھا۔
اس کے بعد؟
خاموشی۔
کیونکہ ہم وہ قوم ہیں جو غیرت کو بیٹی کی لاش پر تولتی ہے۔
جہاں نکاح گناہ، اور مرضی جرم ہے۔
جہاں عدالتوں میں راضی نامے کی چادر تانی جاتی ہے تاکہ باپ، بھائی یا چچا دھو کر ہاتھ صاف کر سکیں۔
ایک اور بیٹی ہار گئی
اور غیرت کے نام پر پھر کچھ پگڑیاں بچا لی گئیں۔

Congratulations to the Chitral Polo Team on yet another remarkable victory at the highest polo ground in the world! This year’s Shandur Polo Festival was, without a doubt, the most thrilling and memorable one I’ve ever witnessed. What an incredible display of freestyle polo at the roof of the world.
All the players from the Chitral side delivered an outstanding performance, but Izhar Ali Khan truly stood out with an exceptional game this time. He was undoubtedly the star of the victory for Chitral.
A special mention to Arbab Quli Khan, who made an impressive debut in the A Team. His performance was full of promise, and I strongly believe he will become one of the most valuable assets to the team in the coming years.

A huge shoutout to Gilgit-Baltistan’s team as well they played exceptionally well. Their players showed immense talent, and the horses were truly outstanding this year. It was a tough match, and though the result didn’t go their way, we wish them the very best of luck for the coming year.The spirit of the crowd from both Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral was electric. Yes, the energy was intense at times, especially from the GB side, but let’s remember — we, the people of GB and Chitral, are known for our peace, unity, and brotherhood. It’s vital that we continue to honor and preserve these shared values and traditions.Lastly, heartfelt thanks to the District Administration of Upper and Lower Chitral for successfully organizing and hosting such a prestigious and iconic event, and for giving me the opportunity to host the event like Shandur. Long live Shandur Polo — a celebration of culture, courage, and connection!
