A Black Day for Upper Dir – Terror Strikes on Our Independence Day
Today, 14th August – the day when we celebrate the hard-earned freedom of Pakistan – has been stained with the blood of our brave sons. In Upper Dir, militants ambushed a police van, resulting in the martyrdom of three valiant police officers. This was not just an attack on a vehicle or on individuals; it was an attack on peace, stability, and the very spirit of our nation.
Upper Dir has always been known as a serene and peaceful place, where people live in harmony, away from the chaos of violence. But the question that burns in every heart is – from where are these militants coming? Who is supporting them? And most importantly, how long will such bloodshed continue to haunt our land?
Terrorism has no religion, no nationality, and no justification. These so-called fighters are nothing but enemies of humanity, who use fear and violence to disrupt our unity. It is heartbreaking and unacceptable that on a day when our flag should be flying high in celebration, we are instead mourning the loss of our heroes.
Our armed forces and law enforcement agencies have made countless sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. They have pushed back militancy before, and they can do it again. But now is the time for even greater vigilance, intelligence coordination, and swift justice. We cannot allow these murderers to find refuge in our mountains, cities, or minds.
Let us stand united as a nation – not just in grief, but in determination. Let us raise our voices loud and clear: We reject terrorism in all its forms. We refuse to be divided. We will protect the peace of Dir, of Pakistan, and of every corner of our beloved homeland.
To the families of our martyred police officers – your pain is our pain, and your loss is our loss. Your loved ones are not gone in vain; they are the pride of our soil, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
Today should have been a day of joy, but instead, it reminds us that freedom is not just something we celebrate – it is something we must constantly defend. On this 14th August, as we wave our green and white flag, let it not just be a symbol of independence, but also a promise: We will not bow to fear. We will stand together against every force that threatens our peace.
Say NO to terrorism. Say YES to unity, justice, and peace.
