🔹 Supervised 35 MPhil and 3 PhD scholars
🔹 Published 100+ research articles with a cumulative impact factor exceeding 150
🔹 Successfully completed 5 research projects, including 2 international collaborations
🔹 Established a state-of-the-art Molecular Genetics Laboratory under a Pak-China joint initiative
🔹 Served as a UNESCO Consultant and played a pivotal role in sending students abroad on fully funded scholarships to USA, China, Korea, and Europe

🌍 He has represented AWKUM and Pakistan in fifteen different countries around the world. Remarkably, he became a Full Professor at the age of forty, making him the youngest Professor in Veterinary Science in the province. 👏

His primary research focus is on the genetics of disease resistance in livestock, making remarkable contributions to science and veterinary education.

DVM Students at ILPFEX 2025 – Peshawar 🐄🐓🐟

Students and faculty members of the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, AWKUM, along with our respected Principal Dr. Sher Bahadar attended the International Livestock, Poultry & Fisheries Expo Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 2025 in Peshawar.

The visit provided our future veterinarians with valuable exposure to modern technologies, innovative research, and practical solutions showcased at the stalls. Such opportunities help strengthen their academic learning, connect them with industry experts, and prepare them for global challenges in animal health and production.

عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان اور وومن یونیورسٹی مردان کی جانب سے متاثرینِ سیلاب کے لیے امدادی قافلہ روانہ — جانوروں اور انسانوں دونوں کے زخموں پر مرہم

مردان: عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان اور وومن یونیورسٹی مردان کی جانب سے سیلاب متاثرین کی مدد کے لیے ایک مثالی اور جامع ریلیف قافلہ آج گارڈن کیمپس سے روانہ ہوا۔ اس قافلے میں دو ایمبولینسز، دو بڑی گاڑیاں اور تین ہائی ایس گاڑیاں شامل تھیں، جو نہ صرف ضروریاتِ زندگی کا سامان بلکہ انسانی اور حیوانی صحت کے لیے مخصوص ماہرین کو بھی اپنے ہمراہ لے کر روانہ ہوئیں۔
یہ امدادی مشن وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر جمیل احمد کی خصوصی ہدایات پر ترتیب دیا گیا، جس کی قیادت ڈاکٹر ادریس کر رہے تھے۔ ٹیم میں پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شیر بہادر، ڈاکٹر طارق محمود، ڈاکٹر طاہر ،کاظم خان، طلباء و طالبات کی کثیر تعداد ،سوسائٹیز اور وومن یونیورسٹی کی جانب سے رجسٹرار عدنان بطور فوکل پرسن شامل تھے۔
ریلیف قافلے نے اپنے ہمراہ آٹا، چاول، صاف پانی کی بوتلیں، طبی سہولیات، ویکسینز اور ادویات فراہم کیں۔ یونیورسٹی کی ویٹرنری ٹیم نے جانوروں کی مختلف بیماریوں کی روک تھام کے لیے ویکسینیشن کی جبکہ بیمار جانوروں کو بروقت علاج فراہم کیا۔ دوسری جانب سائیکالوجی ڈیپارٹمنٹ کی ٹیم نے متاثرہ گھروں کا دورہ کر کے ذہنی دباؤ، خوف اور صدمے کا شکار افراد — خصوصاً بچوں — کی کونسلنگ کی اور ضرورت مندوں کو ادویات بھی فراہم کیں۔
اس موقع پر پاکستان تحریکِ انصاف کے مرکزی رہنما بیرسٹر گوہر علی بھی ریلیف کیمپ پہنچے اور وائس چانسلر ڈاکٹر جمیل احمد کا شکریہ ادا کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ
"عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان نے صرف جانوروں کی صحت کو نہیں بلکہ انسانی دلوں کے زخموں کو بھی مدنظر رکھا ہے۔ بونیر کے عوام اس مثالی قدم پر یونیورسٹی کے بے حد شکر گزار ہیں۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ بچوں میں سیلاب کے باعث پیدا ہونے والا خوف قابلِ توجہ ہے، جو یونیورسٹی کی سائیکیٹری ٹیم نے بخوبی محسوس کیا اور دل سے علاج کیا۔
یہ قافلہ نہ صرف مادی امداد لے کر گیا بلکہ امید، احساس اور انسانیت کا پیغام بھی ساتھ لے کر گیا۔ عبدالولی خان یونیورسٹی مردان اور وومن یونیورسٹی مردان نے ایک مرتبہ پھر ثابت کیا کہ تعلیمی ادارے معاشرے کے دکھ درد میں شریک ہونے کا فرض بخوبی نبھا سکتے ہیں

We are proud to share the remarkable achievement of one of our undergraduate students, who has officially submitted their research report to their supervisor — becoming the first undergraduate researcher of our college.

Their research, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Tahir Usman (Chairman, Department of Livestock Production and Continuing Education), focused on:
🧪 “Isolation, Identification, Molecular Confirmation and Antibiotic Resistance Patterns of Salmonella from Beef in District Mardan” — a pioneering study in this region.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to our esteemed faculty members who made this academic milestone possible:
✅ Dr. Tahir Usman – for his exceptional supervision and mentorship.
✅ Dr. Muhammad Salman – for his invaluable guidance and support throughout the research journey.

The National Outreach Programme for Faculty Development, organized by NAHE under HEC, concluded at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) on May 26, 2025, after a successful month-long training from April 28 to May 23. The programme aimed to enhance teaching and leadership skills of faculty members.
The closing ceremony was started with Surah Al-Feel, recitation by Dr. Asad Ullah. Prof. Dr. Jamil Ahmad (VC AWKUM), Dr. Noor Amna Malik (MD NAHE), Prof. Dr. Inayat Ullah Babar (VC UET Taxila), Mr. Hassan Khan (Registrar AWKUM), and Mr. Ghulam Murtaza Goraya (HEC) were the guest.

All the 30 participants including Dr. Asad Ullah and Dr. Mian Muhammad Salman from the Department of Pathobiology, CVS & AH, AWKUM, successfully completed the training and were recognized as future HEC resource persons.
