As you're well aware, 2025 has been a tough year with leaf miner infestation hitting nearly 90% of apple orchards across the valley. This pest outbreak has led to significant extra costs and efforts in insecticide applications, impacting yields and increasing burdens on all of us.
To protect next season’s crop, we recommend a proactive approach: spraying Cypermethrin 25% EC at the post-harvest stage. This measure has shown promise in significantly reducing leaf miner infestations. Given the scale of this year's outbreak, it's crucial that we work together—by coordinating our efforts, we can control this issue on a valley-wide level and minimize future impacts.
