In the Kasur district's Ganda Singh Wala sector, the Sutlej River is at a high flood stage.

Water is flowing through the Ganda Singh Wala at a rate of 129000 cusecs, according to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority's spokesperson.

The pupils were traveling to school in an isolated mountainous district of Battagram, about 200 kilometers (125 miles) north of Islamabad, when they became caught in the cable car at 7 a.m. (0200 GMT), according to officials.

After Islamabad, all of the nation's passport offices have begun issuing e-passports.
In relation to the fee schedule, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has also released a notification.
The charge for a 36-page, 5-year e-passport is fixed at Rs9,000; for a 36-page, urgent e-passport, it is fixed at Rs15,000; for a 72-page, standard e-passport, it is fixed at Rs16,500; and for an urgent e-passport, it is fixed at Rs27,000.
The standard charge for a 10-year passport with 36 pages is set at Rs13,500, and the urgent fee would be Rs22,500.
Normal passport fees will continue at Rs24750 for a 72-page, 10-year passport and Rs40500 for an urgent e-passport.

Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday vowed to restore within three to four days all the churches and Christians’ homes that were ransacked and torched during the Jaranwala violence a day earlier.
On Wednesday, a violent mob of hundreds had ransacked and torched five churches while also attacking the residences of members of the Christian community.
A Christian cemetery and the office of the local assistant commissioner were also vandalised. The incident had led the Punjab government to call in Rangers while 3,000 police personnel from various police units, including the Elite Force, had been deployed as well.
As per police and local sources, the violence erupted after some locals alleged that several desecrated pages of the Holy Quran had been found near a house at Cinema Chowk in Jaranwala, where two Christian brothers resided.
Mohsin Naqvi, the interim chief minister of Punjab, promised on Thursday to rebuild all the churches and Christian homes that had been looted and set on fire during the Jaranwala riots within three to four days.
On Wednesday, a violent mob of hundreds attacked the homes of Christians while also robbing and setting on fire five churches.
Additionally vandalized were the local assistant commissioner's office and a Christian cemetery. The event had prompted the Punjab government to dispatch Rangers, along with 3,000 officers from various police units, including the Elite Force.
According to police and local authorities, the rioting started when some residents claimed that several desecrated Holy Quran pages had been discovered close by.

Beginning on August 16, the cost of gasoline would increase by 17.50 Pakistani rupees, to 290.45 rupees per litre.
After a 20 rupee price hike, high-speed diesel will now cost 293.40 rupees a litre.
In order to reach its fiscal goals under a pact with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the government raised the price of gasoline and diesel earlier this month, exacerbating already exorbitant rates.

Shehryar Afridi and Shandana Gulzar Khan, two leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have been held under the MPO since the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued orders for their release on Wednesday.
Afridi was ordered by the court not to leave Islamabad. It further instructed the deputy commissioner (DC) and inspector general of police (IGP) of Islamabad to guarantee his security.

Afridi was originally detained during the riots on May 9 and was then detained once more on May 30 in accordance with Section 3 of the MPO Ordinance 1960. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Parvez Elahi was arrested yet again on Monday by the officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) shortly after being released from Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail.

Elahi was initially arrested on June 1 from outside his residence in a Rs70 million graft case related to the embezzlement of development funds allocated for the Gujrat district.

KARACHI: Gold rates in Pakistan edged lower on Saturday in line with the negative trend in the international market.

According to data issued by All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of gold (24 carats) lost Rs600 per tola and Rs514 per 10 grams to settle at Rs221,800 and Rs190,158, respectively.

Meanwhile, the price of the yellow metal declined by $4 to settle at $1,914 per ounce in the international market today.
