US President Donald Trump mentioned Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar when talking about countries helping with talks with Iran, but he did not mention Pakistan anywhere. Trump said these talks are happening because Iran asked for them, and these three Gulf countries supported the effort.

Interestingly, after the June 2026 agreement between the US and Iran, both Pakistan and Qatar were officially named as mediators. At that time, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced its support for mediation led by Pakistan. Later on June 22, both Pakistan and Qatar took part as mediators in high-level talks in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.

However, former US General Jack Keane criticized Pakistan and Qatar's mediation, claiming both countries are supporting Iran instead of protecting US interests. Meanwhile, Indian social media users called this omission a major diplomatic setback for Pakistan, especially following reports claiming Pakistan had asked for a $10 billion mediation fee.

Pakistani boxer Qudratullah, who represented the country at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, has reportedly gone m!ssing just hours before the national team's scheduled departure.

According to sources in the Pakistan Boxing Federation, he was last seen in his hotel room around 2:00am. When officials gathered the team for departure at 9:00am, Qudratullah was nowhere to be found.

Sources also revealed that his passport and return ticket remain in the custody of the team manager.

Pakistan has been excluded from the new US visitor visa bond programme, meaning Pakistani applicants will not be required to pay a refundable financial guarantee of up to $20,000 under the policy that took effect on August 1, 2026.

The permanent programme applies to selected applicants from 50 countries for B-1 business and B-2 tourist visas, with bonds ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 based on a consular officer’s assessment.

Pakistan and India are not on the list, while Bangladesh and Nepal are included. The bond is refunded if travelers comply with visa rules and leave the US before their authorized stay expires.
