Do you know why high-paying skills like Custom Shopify development, Kinetic Typography, and iOS development have much less competition for top roles?
The reason is that most people dismiss the possibility of becoming proficient in these skills before even attempting to learn them.
They believe that those excelling in these areas and earning significant amounts of money are from another world, possess high IQ or think like Einstein.
This is a false assumption.
They allow the negative opinions of others regarding their abilities to influence them and succumb to the limiting beliefs of society, such as
👉 "Video editing is difficult, you need a computer worth thousands of dollars to do it."
👉 "Learning iOS requires paid courses and thousands of hours of practice" and
👉 "Coding is only for geniuses."
Individuals who specialize in these skills work with the same dedication, persistence, and passion as those who specialize in low-income skills like graphic design and copywriting. However, they earn ten times more than individuals who sell low-income skills.
Therefore, starting a freelancing career with a high-income skill that has low competition is a smart decision. The only requirements for beginning with a high-income skill such as are a positive attitude, a strong faith in your creativity and proactivity, disciplined learning, watching tutorial videos every day, and implementing something new in a video every day. The most critical and essential skill is the ability to improve based on feedback from mentors and experts.
👉 When I started, the interface of premiere pro and after effects was daunting, with windows constantly disappearing.
👉 Technical aspects, like importing footage, editing clips, adding effects, and exporting the final product, were difficult to comprehend.
👉 There were so many tools to figure out, and editing a few minutes of footage took hours due to the lack of a high-spec computer.
👉 Creativity is essential in video editing, such as selecting appropriate music, incorporating special effects, and assembling footage to tell a story. For me, developing these creative skills was challenging because I had no background in art or design.
👉 Attention to detail is critical in video editing, as minor errors can ruin the entire project. I made mistakes, such as exporting only a small portion of the video, using the wrong settings or dimensions, or having animations that weren't smooth or objects that weren't centered as I had imagined. I had to re-export these videos due to small errors.
👉 Video editing involves handling large files, which can be challenging to organize and back up.
👉 Since I lacked a high-performance computer at the time, rendering took a long time, and I had to be patient.
However, I am now glad that I persevered through these challenges, knowing that nothing great is achieved without effort. Today, I earn ten times more than I would have with a low-income skill.
