خدّار میرے شہر کا فاقوں سے مر گیا
راشن جو آ رہا تھا وہ افسر کے گھر گیا
چڑھتی رہی مزار پہ چادریں تو بے شمار
باہر جو ایک فقیر تھا وہ سردی سے مر گیا
روٹی امیرِ شہر کے کتّوں نے چھین لی
فاقہ غریبِ شہر کے بچوں میں بٹ گیا
چہرہ بتا رہا تھا کہ مارا ہے بھوک نے
حاکم نے کہہ دیا کہ کچھ کھا کے مر گیا
