A heartfelt condolence reference was held on Friday at the Department of Defence & Strategic Studies (DSS), Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), in loving memory of the late Professor Dr. Syed Rifaat Hussain.

Organized by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences in collaboration with the Directorate of External Linkages, the gathering brought together family members, friends, students, and colleagues to honor Dr. Hussain’s enduring legacy.

Speakers reflected on his profound academic contributions to strategic studies, his mentorship, and his unwavering commitment to peace and security. His remarkable kindness, humility, and intellectual brilliance were remembered fondly by all those whose lives he touched.

On behalf of the DSS Department and the broader QAU community, we extend sincere gratitude to all those who joined us, sent messages, or shared heartfelt memories during this solemn occasion.

We especially thank Prof. Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal, Dean of Social Sciences QAU, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tehsin, Chairman DSS Department, for hosting the event and honoring Dr. Hussain’s memory.

May Dr. Syed Rifaat Hussain’s soul rest in eternal peace. Let us carry forward his legacy through our dedication to learning, wisdom, and kindness.

Dr. Luqman Ahmed Leads “Go Green, Keep Clean” Campaign at QAU | 3rd Day Activity

Dr. Luqman Ahmed, teaching the Civic and Community Engagement course to BS 3rd semester students at the Centre of Excellence in Gender Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), spearheaded a dynamic initiative as part of the “Go Green, Keep Clean” campaign this November 2024.

Students actively engaged in the campaign by interviewing faculty, university administration, and fellow students to explore its impact and raise awareness. The campaign also featured thought-provoking panel discussions, organized with the technical support of the QAU Radio team, fostering dialogue on sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Together, these activities showcased the power of civic engagement in building a cleaner, greener campus community.
