Social media platforms in Saudi Arabia are abuzz with viral photos of a unique Muslim prayer space located at the top of Makkah’s iconic Royal Clock Tower hotel. The small prayer room, known as a musalla, is perched at an extraordinary height of 600 meters above ground and lies just 500 meters away from the Holy Kaaba.

Situated inside the crescent of the Royal Clock Tower — the world’s tallest clock — this sacred space is nestled precisely within the letter “ل” (Lām) of the Arabic phrase "الله أكبر" (Allah Akbar, meaning “God is the Greatest”). The letter itself has a massive diameter of 23 meters.

This musalla holds the distinction of being the closest elevated prayer spot to the Kaaba, the spiritual heart of Islam, visited by over a billion Muslims for worship each year.

Under Special Directives of the Prime Minister, Pakistan Dispatches Additional Humani-tarian Aid to Ga-za

In continuation of Pakistan’s humani-tarian support for Ga-za, an additional 200 tons of relief goods have been dispatched through two special flights. The 18th consignment, comprising 100 tons of essential aid, including ration bags, ready-to-eat meals, and medici-nes, departed today from Islamabad International Airport. This follows the 17th consignment of another 100 tons, which was sent on August 7.

With this latest shipment, the total aid sent through 18 consignments now stands at 1815 tons.

A formal ceremony was held at the airport, attended by Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar as the chief guest, alongside the Ambassador of Pale-stine, government officials, and senior representatives of NDMA.

The federal minister appreciated NDMA and all partnering welfare organizations for ensuring the swift dispatch of aid, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of Pale-stine during these trying times.

Members of Italy's Five Star Movement made a powerful statement during a recent parliamentary session by wearing outfits in the colors of the Pales-tinian flag—red, green, black, and white—to express their support for the people of Pales-tine.

During the session, the lawmakers declared:
“Today, we are not waving this flag because you would take it away from us. Today, we wear this flag on our bodies because it no longer represents just Pales-tine—it has become a global symbol for those who struggle for huma-nity.”

The symbolic gesture reflects a rising tide of international prot-ests and growing solidarity amid Isra-el’s continued mil-itary operati-ons in Ga-za. The move by Italian MPs has drawn attention across Europe and beyond, adding to the global chorus demanding justice and hu-man rights for Palesti-nians.

In a candid chat on Subhankar Mishra’s YouTube podcast, cricket legend AB de Villiers revealed that Muhammad Asif was the one bowler he never wanted to face early in his career. Despite facing the likes of Shoaib Akhtar and many other fast bowlers, de Villiers admitted that Asif's control, seam movement, and deceptive skill left him completely unsettled.

Reflecting on his struggles, he said, “He just had too much skill… it was almost unfair.” The former South African skipper acknowledged his own technical flaws back then and expressed curiosity about how he would fare against Asif today, with a more refined technique and mental clarity.

Field Marshal Asim Munir, recently promoted to Pakistan’s highest military rank, is credited by The Economist as the key force behind Pakistan’s strategic revival following a brief con-flict with India.

Under his leadership, Pakistan has strengthened ties with the U.S., balanced relations with China and Gulf nations, and regained global attention.

A Gallup survey shows 93% public approval of the military post-con-flict.

As political influence grows, speculation swirls about Munir’s future role, despite official denials.

The Economist sees Pakistan reemerging as a more assertive and strategically independent nation.
