The Executive Director of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Rana Imran Sikandar, has said that the newborns who died in the hospital nursery fire were not killed by burns but by inhaling smoke and soot.

According to PIMS authorities, 15 newborns were present in the nursery when the fire broke out, while one baby was successfully rescued. Hospital staff attempted to enter the nursery to save the infants, but a blast caused the ceiling to collapse, preventing further rescue efforts.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a major reduction in liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices, cutting rates by up to 27.71% for the Sui gas systems.

According to a notification issued by OGRA, the LNG price for the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) system has been reduced by $6.81 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), bringing the new price down to $19.03 per MMBtu from the previous $25.84.
