🇮🇷✈️ OSINT sleuths spot Iranian drone mothership at Hormuz Strait’s gates
Satellite images shows that the Shahid Bagheri drone carrier is parked in waters off Bandar Abbas, the port city straddling the strategic strait through which 20%+ of the world’s oil supplies flow.
Converted into a warship out of a container vessel and launched in early 2025, the Shahid Bagheri is Iran’s asymmetric answer to drone-based power projection.
🚀 Bristling with the latest word in Iranian missile weaponry, including Noor and Qader anti-ship missiles and ballistic and cruise missiles with a 1k+ km range, the ship has a 22k nautical mile range, enough to circumvent the globe, and provisions to operate up to a year at a time without refueling.
⛴ Besides drones, the Shahid Bagheri can carry helicopters, or serve as a mothership for Iran’s vast mosquito fleet of small attack boats.
