Karbala is not just a story from history — it’s a powerful message for all times.
When Imam Hussain (a.s.) stood against Yazid in 680 CE, he wasn’t fighting for power, land, or fame. He clearly said, “I rise only to reform the nation of my grandfather.” His stand was for truth, justice, and moral values.
Karbala teaches us to stand up against injustice, corruption, and hypocrisy — no matter where or when it happens. Imam Hussain (a.s.) didn’t win through violence; he won through sacrifice, principle, and unmatched courage. That’s why his message lives on.
Some people question why we mark Muharram the way we do. But ask yourself — if we didn’t remember Imam Hussain (a.s.) like this, would the world still know his name today? Those who supported Yazid would never have kept his memory alive. It was the people who mourned, remembered, and honored Hussain who made sure the truth wasn’t buried.
Yes, we must reflect and improve how we commemorate. But one thing is clear: we must remember, highlight, and honor the courage of Imam Hussain (a.s.) — not just as a tradition, but as a duty to truth and justice. Forgetting Karbala would be like letting tyranny win.
