Bilal Azhar Kayani, born in Jhelum, represents the new generation of Pakistani leadership. Holding a degree in Economics from University College London (UCL), he combines international education with a deep understanding of local issues. Elected as a Member of the National Assembly (NA-60 Jhelum-I) for the 2024–2029 term under the banner of PML-N, he is seen as one of the most promising young politicians from Punjab. General Asif Nawaz Janjua, hailing from Jhelum, served as the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan from August 1991 until January 1993. Known for his professionalism, integrity, and focus on discipline, he played a pivotal role in strengthening the Pakistan Army during a crucial period in the country’s history. A graduate of the Pakistan Military Academy, he steadily rose through the ranks, holding key command and staff positions before being appointed as the Army Chief. Remembered as a principled and dynamic leader, General Asif Nawaz Janjua remains a source of pride for Jhelum and Pakistan alike.

Captain Hasnain Akhtar, belonging to Jhelum, joined the Pakistan Army four years ago and embraced martyrdom on 20 March 2025 during a counter-terrorism operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
A symbol of courage and leadership, he always led his men from the front in numerous operations.
On 27 December 2024, he saved 12 children without firing a single shot while under attack from 35–40 terrorists.
On 27 May 2024, he eliminated the most wanted terrorist Abbas Butni along with 12 others in Tank.
In November 2024, despite suffering a fractured arm in hand-to-hand combat he killed a terrorist on the spot.
Again, in January 2025, he played a decisive role in the elimination of foreign commander Ahmed Ilyas alias Badruddin, son of a senior Taliban leader, in Kulachi, D.I. Khan. Captain Hasnain Akhtar’s supreme sacrifice is a shining example of loyalty, valor and devotion to Pakistan’s soil.
