Although it looks like one
person is much larger than the other, both are actually the same size.

The illusion works because the room isn't square it's built with slanted walls, a tilted ceiling, and an uneven floor that form a distorted shape. From a fixed viewing point, the brain assumes the space is
normal, causing it to misjudge distance and size.

The Ames Room proves how easily perspective can trick the human eye and how what we see isn't always reality.

The onboard system showed full-sized pedestrians walking directly in front of the car... in an area where no living person was visible.

Tesla's self-driving software uses a powerful suite of radar, ultrasonic. and vision-based sensors to detect
objects and people, even in the dark.

But these sensors don't rely on human sight.

They analyze shape, motion, and heat signatures. And in rare cases like this, they've been known to trigger phantom
detections, possibly from headstone shapes, heat reflections, or misreadings.

Still, the eeriness is impossible to ignore.
