Karachi is being forced to confront an uncomfortable question:

Are the shadows of violence, influence and impunity growing deeper over the city?

The Pincky case.
The Mir Raza Ali case.
The Mustafa Amir case.

Different cases. Different circumstances. But together, they have shaken the conscience of Karachi.

Mustafa Amir’s murder was supposed to be a test case.

A 23-year-old young man disappeared from DHA Karachi on January 6, 2025.

According to the prosecution case, Mustafa was allegedly murdered, his body was placed in the trunk of his car, and the vehicle was taken towards Hub and set on fire.

The case shocked the city.

Then came another devastating development: DSP Ali Raza, who was investigating the case, was also killed.

Yet the passage of time has brought another question to the forefront:

Where is the justice?

The trial has faced delays. And now Mustafa’s mother has had to approach the Sindh High Court, asking the court to intervene and ensure that proceedings move forward.

The High Court has directed the trial court to expedite the proceedings.

But why should a grieving mother have to keep knocking on courtroom doors for justice for her son?

“JUSTICE DELAYED — JUSTICE DENIED.”

This is no longer just about one family.

It is about the confidence of an entire city in the rule of law.

If a case that shook Karachi can continue to face delays, what message does that send to ordinary citizens?

And the question Karachi must ask is painfully simple:
