Karachi Approves Rs. 1.4 Billion Flyover to Ease Traffic on Azeempura Road

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has greenlit a Rs. 1.4 billion flyover project on Azeempura Road to tackle traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the city’s eastern zone.

Linking Shahrah-i-Bhutto with Sharae Faisal, the 500-meter flyover will offer a signal-free route—especially benefiting commuters heading to and from Jinnah International Airport. The project was approved in a meeting led by Mayor Murtaza Wahab and will soon be sent to the Planning and Development Board for final clearance.

Once approved, construction will begin immediately, with completion expected within a year. The flyover is part of Karachi’s broader push to modernize its transport infrastructure and ease urban mobility challenges.
