Why Aamir Khan Released His Film on YouTube Instead of Netflix

Aamir Khan rejected a ₹100 crore OTT deal and chose to release *Sitaare Zameen Par* on YouTube for just ₹100. In a humorous video, his son Junaid reveals the decision, prompting a comic outburst from Aamir calling him a "nepo kid."

Aamir explained his choice by saying cinema has become too expensive and exclusive. He wants families — and even neighbours — to watch his films together at an affordable price.

With over 500 million users in India, YouTube offers far greater reach than Netflix's 12 million, aligning with Aamir's goal of accessibility for all.

Karachi Approves Rs. 1.4 Billion Flyover to Ease Traffic on Azeempura Road

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has greenlit a Rs. 1.4 billion flyover project on Azeempura Road to tackle traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the city’s eastern zone.

Linking Shahrah-i-Bhutto with Sharae Faisal, the 500-meter flyover will offer a signal-free route—especially benefiting commuters heading to and from Jinnah International Airport. The project was approved in a meeting led by Mayor Murtaza Wahab and will soon be sent to the Planning and Development Board for final clearance.

Once approved, construction will begin immediately, with completion expected within a year. The flyover is part of Karachi’s broader push to modernize its transport infrastructure and ease urban mobility challenges.

The Punjab government has launched an ambitious plan to upgrade 1,200 villages into "Model Villages" as part of the Suthra Punjab and Waste to Value initiatives. Chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the project promises a significant uplift in rural infrastructure and quality of life.

Each model village will feature round-the-clock clean water supply, underground sewage systems, and waste-to-energy management plants. The initiative also includes paved roads, numbered housing for easy navigation, tree plantation drives, and dedicated children’s parks.

To ensure long-term sustainability, the model will incorporate solar-powered water and sewage systems. So far, 130 villages have been successfully developed in the pilot phase, with the next stages to be guided by the specific needs of each community.

The French government has announced its highest civilian award, the "Legion of Honour," for Ali Akbar, a newspaper seller from Pakistan. The 72-year-old has been selling newspapers on the streets of Paris for the past 50 years.

Ali Akbar moved to Paris from Rawalpindi in 1975. After doing a few small jobs, he started selling newspapers—a job he has continued with dedication ever since. The French government is honoring him for his long service, and French media are calling him the "last newspaper seller" in Paris.

Urdu Joins UN’s Multilingual Expansion: A Major Step Towards Global Inclusion 🌍🕊️

In a landmark move to celebrate linguistic diversity, the United Nations has added Urdu to its list of 27 newly recognized languages under its multilingual expansion drive. This initiative underscores the UN’s commitment to making key information accessible to more communities around the world.

The Urdu translations of essential UN documents were officially handed over to the President of the General Assembly by Pakistan’s Deputy Ambassador Usman Jadoon and Urdu Markaz New York President Raees Warsi.

A batch of 100 young agricultural graduates from Pakistan is heading to China as part of the Prime Minister’s Special Capacity-Building Programme, designed to transform Pakistan’s agriculture sector through global learning and advanced technology adoption.

These graduates will receive specialized training at the Southwest University of Science and Technology, where the focus will be on climate-resilient and tech-enabled farming methods. This initiative is a key step in the government’s broader vision to train 1,000 graduates at top Chinese universities, a plan launched after the Prime Minister’s 2024 visit to the Yangling Agricultural Technology Demonstration Base.

At a pre-departure ceremony, Secretary of the Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFSR), Amir Muhyuddin, urged the students to represent Pakistan with pride and to bring back innovations that could reshape the country's farming landscape. The programme is being implemented in coordination with HEC, MOFA, MoIT, NITB, and Pakistan’s Embassy in Beijing. Officials also highlighted the need for maintaining discipline and fostering strong cultural ties during their stay.

The much-awaited World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 clash between India and Pakistan, slated to take place today at Edgbaston, Birmingham, has been called off. This decision comes after several prominent Indian players, including Harbhajan Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, and Suresh Raina, opted out of the match.

The situation reportedly escalated after Shahid Afridi’s involvement, which led to internal tensions within the India Champions squad. With key players pulling out, the balance of both teams was significantly affected, drawing heavy criticism from fans. There was growing pressure on other top players like Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan to step in.

The WCL, an independent tournament featuring retired cricketers, operates outside the purview of the BCCI, leaving it without formal oversight. India, led by Yuvraj, was set to face a formidable Pakistan side, featuring Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, and Shoaib Malik. However, with the withdrawal of several key players, the match had to be cancelled due to the lack of team balance.

Foodpanda is a Complete Nightmare – Avoid at All Costs!

I’ve given Foodpanda multiple chances, and every time it’s the same story: **late deliveries**, **cold food**, and a total lack of **customer service**. The app is full of glitches, and there’s **no helpline number** to contact anyone directly. The help center is just an endless loop of **automated responses** that never solve anything.

I can’t even find out why my orders are late—there’s no real-time support or updates. I’ve tried reaching out through their system, but it’s like talking to a brick wall. No human to help, no answers, and I’m stuck waiting around, wondering if my food will ever arrive.

Foodpanda’s delivery drivers are rushed, and half the time, the food is wrong or cold by the time it gets to me. It's clear they don’t care about their customers or the quality of service they provide.

Save yourself the frustration and **avoid Foodpanda**. There are much better options out there that actually care about getting your order to you on time and solving issues when they arise.
