“Nobody claps in the beginning. But that doesn't mean it's not working.”
Greetings, Visionaries! I’m Hafiza Sabeela Jawaid, and this is the real story of my transformation— from silent self-doubt to unstoppable global impact.
I remember feeling trapped in a cocoon of negativity: a child with zero self‑confidence, introverted, stone‑heart, mocked at every turn. During my school age, at Metropolis Academy, despite my father’s high‑profile sources and cleared dues, I was labeled a failure—bullied by peers, slapped and scolded by teachers as well as management and excluded from board‑exam lists because “only polished students” could uphold the school’s reputation. Simultaneously, I studied Hifz ul Qura’an at Madarsa tul Banat Ahmad ul Islam Ancholi. I felt crushed beneath incessant comparisons—cousins, classmates, siblings—told I was “nothing,” “zero,” doomed to fail.
Then came my lifeline: Ma’am Sadia Ilyas, Principal of Muhammadi Public School. When I timidly applied mid‑session to repeat 9th grade, she saw beyond my trauma. As I trembled, she gently took my hand, urged me to speak my pain, and listened without judgment—offering warmth, belief, and tender encouragement. For the first time, I felt safe to heal. Under her mentorship I rediscovered my voice, reclaimed self‑confidence, and emerged as Class Monitor and School Prefect, graduating with 75% (“A” grade) and awards in extracurricular. Her kindness still warms my heart every time I remember: thank you, Ma’am Sadia Ilyas, for showing me I deserved a second chance.
My journey to becoming a dental surgeon and All-Rounder of Pakistan Women’s Cricket hopeful was cut short by family norms and academic setbacks. In my first year of intermediate, my father’s year‑long coma forced me into adult responsibilities I was unprepared for—cooking my first biryani, learning home management, and absorbing crippling stress that cost me my Physics paper repeatedly. Discouragement echoed: “All our cousins and their children are doctors and engineers—why not you?” Yet my dear friend—my anonymous guardian angel—refused to let me surrender. She reminded me that as a Hafiza, I had already achieved the extraordinary. On her advice I pursued a B.A., discovering a passion for social sciences and remarkable talent for critical thinking. I still feel her gentle push urging me forward to find all the unexplored and hidden ways to open the doors of my success: thank you, my dearest friend, for seeing my worth when I couldn’t.
While balancing secular studies of graduation in college with Dars‑e‑Nizami and Hifz exams of Wifaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan studies at Idarah Ma’arif ul Qur’an (2016–2018), I faced another ultimatum: choose one exam track or exit both as I'm the only biggest roots of institution's infamy. At my lowest, the founder and teaching team of Madarsa tul Banat Ahmad ul Islam Ancholi welcomed me back, insisting I could—and must—sit every paper. Their unwavering faith propelled me to clear both my B.A finals and Wifaq‑ul‑Madaris Hifz board exams with flying colors. Thank you to every teacher at Madarsa tul Banat Ahmad ul Islam, Ancholi, whose belief turned my greatest struggle into a triumphant credential.
Upon entering the University of Karachi for my MPA-MIS, I was unversed in academic politics and imposter syndrome. Then Ma’am Sameen Fatima arrived—an extraordinary mentor who transformed me from an ordinary student into a class leader then a global impact. When I became Class Representative, despite skepticism from peers, she championed me unwaveringly, nurturing my strategic thinking and communication skills until I graduated as a Gold Medalist. Her daily encouragement still feels like sunlight in my personal, professional and academic life: endless gratitude and respect, Ma’am Sameen Mustafa, for believing in me.
In the corridors of the DPA faculty, DrTehmina Faisal, DrMustafa Hyder, Dr. Saima Akhtar, Dr. Ghazal Khawaja Hummayun, Dr. Muhammed Nabeel Ashraf, infact each and every faculty of DPA opened doors to high‑level research and understanding to create connections with global networks. They guided me through policy analysis, strategic leadership, and public administration… equipping me with the gravitas to stand on international stages. Each of them invested time and insight, helping me grow from anxious novice to confident educator and consultant. I honor and cherish you all for your unwavering mentorship.
