The Cyclone Warning Center of the Meteorological Department has issued an alert stating that a deep depression over the Arabian Sea has intensified into Cyclone “Shakti.” Currently, it is located about 360 kilometers south of Karachi. Within the next 24 hours, it may further strengthen into a severe cyclonic storm.
Due to the cyclone, rainfall is expected along the coastal belt of Karachi, Sindh, and Balochistan. According to the Meteorological Department, the sea condition near the Sindh coast will remain “very rough” during the storm, with winds blowing at speeds of 75 to 125 kilometers per hour. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea until October 5.
