AirSial has signed a new deal with travel technology provider Amadeus as the Pakistan-based airline embarks on an ambitious expansion. The carrier will deploy the Altéa Departure Control – Customer Management solution, designed to enhance both passenger and agent experiences at the airport.

The solution delivers personalised services for passengers while increasing operational efficiency for agents.

Fazal Jilani, the chairman for AirSial, said: “We are currently focused on enhancing regional connectivity for the Pakistani population both within the country and beyond. Our relationship with Amadeus is the latest step in this journey, deploying cutting-edge solutions to reduce stress, adapt to individual needs and enhance efficiency for all.”

Integrated with other Amadeus Altéa tools, Altéa Departure Control – Customer Management provides a unified platform where all aspects of flight management can be managed, from check–in through to baggage handling. By simplifying and automating many of the common airport tasks, travelers benefit from online check-in options, seamless payments and digital boarding passes, gaining greater autonomy and reduced waiting times.

Yassine Mellak, the vice president of Middle East Cluster, Account Management, Amadeus, said: “Our new agreement with AirSial not only deepens the strategic partnership between our two organisations, but also marks a significant step in Amadeus’ vision to expand its footprint within the Pakistani aviation sector. Working together, we are well-positioned to drive growth, innovation and value for travelers across the destination."

Human Rights Watch (HRW), a New York-based nonprofit advocating against human rights violations across the world, said it can not accept donations from comedians who performed at the Riyadh Comedy Festival, Variety reported on Friday.

The rights watchdog clarified its position on the controversial Saudi festival after comedian Aziz Ansari said he would donate a part of the fee he was given by the Saudi government to causes he believed in, mentioning HRW and Reporters Without Borders as potential recipients. Ansari was one of several big names at the festival, which ran from September 26 to October 9, including Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, Louis CK and Pete Davidson.

Arvind Ganesan, head of economic justice and rights at HRW, told Variety they were critical of Ansari and other performers in Riyadh, refusing their donations as accepting their money may be seen as compromising on the organisation’s principles. He said they had not been not been approached for any such donations so far.

Ansari was earlier questioned by fellow comic Jimmy Kimmel, who asked why he would perform for “a pretty brutal regime”. Ansari said he had put a lot of thought into the decision and felt his performance could start some positive conversations.

After months of teasing snippets, singles and cryptic posts, Hasan Raheem ( ) has finally dropped his new album, Dil Kay Parday — and it’s already everywhere. Quite literally.

Announcing the release on Instagram, the singer shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes clips: snippets from listening sessions, goofing around with friends, and a short video with producer Umair, who worked on ‘Leave Me Now (Don’t You)’ — one of the tracks on the album. But what really stood out was a raw glimpse of Raheem’s journey: footage from last year when he was recovering from his fourth knee surgery, unsure if he’d be able to walk again.

In the caption, he opened up about how the album was born while he was bedridden.

“I started writing this project on my bedridden days, and it’s been magical ever since,” he shared. “Thank you to my family, especially my mother, for taking care of me and keeping me stable… Yes, and I got married too (love u, wife). Made new friends, cut off some old ones, and started living life again.”

He capped off with the request, “Listen to Dil Kay Parday and live with it, my past two years have been totally that.”

Independent Film Company, the studio behind the horror film Good Boy, has issued a letter from the film’s lead actor, who was recently told he couldn’t win an Oscar, Variety reported on Monday. Indy, the movie’s canine protagonist, said the news felt as if “someone has yanked my leash short, as apparently, I am not a good enough boy for you”.

Indy asked how many performances from canine actors had to go unrecognised “before the academy throws us a bone”. He said he had wanted to act since he was was a young pup, inspired not by human actors, but by Jed the wolf-dog in the 1991 thriller White Fang.

He didn’t just speak for his own species though — Indy wanted justice for all his friends too. He lambasted the academy for failing to recognise animal actors who “have carried emotional arcs and in some cases, entire franchises”. As examples, he mentioned the films Free W***y, which stars Keiko the orca, Babe, which has a full cast of furry and feathered stars, War Horse, which stars Finder in its titular role, and The Birds, which stars a fittingly large amount of birds.

Saying animal actors remain absent from accolades, Indy asked the academy to “stop lifting your leg on the contribution of myself and the many great animal actors whose work continues to go unrecognised”. He signed the letter off with his paw print.

federal judge in Manhattan on Thursday dismissed superstar rapper Drake’s defamation lawsuit over Kendrick Lamar’s diss track ‘Not Like Us’ against Universal Music Group, which releases both artists’ music.

US District Judge Jeannette Vargas said Lamar’s lyrics accusing Drake of being a pe*****le were not defamatory because they were “non-actionable opinion.”

“Although the accusation that Plaintiff is a pe*****le is certainly a serious one, the broader context of a heated rap battle, with incendiary language and offensive accusations hurled by both participants, would not incline the reasonable listener to believe that ‘Not Like Us’ imparts verifiable facts,” Vargas said.

Attorneys for Drake and Lamar’s representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the decision.

UMG said it was pleased by the dismissal. “From the outset, this suit was an affront to all artists and their creative expression and never should have seen the light of day,“ UMG said in a statement.

The company said it looked forward to “continuing our work successfully promoting Drake’s music and investing in his career.”

Hungarian writer Laszlo Krasznahorkai won the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature, the award-giving body said on Thursday.

The prize is awarded by the Swedish Academy and is worth 11 million crowns ($1.2 million). Established in the will of Swedish dynamite inventor and businessman Alfred Nobel, the prizes for achievements in literature, science and peace have been awarded since 1901.

“The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2025 is awarded to the Hungarian author László Krasznahorkai for his compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art,” said Mats Malm, Permanent Secretary at the Swedish Academy.|

Past winners of the 11 million Swedish crown ($1.2 million) literature prize include French poet and essayist Sully Prudhomme, who bagged the first award, American novelist and short story writer William Faulkner in 1949, Britain’s World War Two Prime Minister Winston Churchill in 1953, Turkey’s Orhan Pamuk in 2006 and Norway’s Jon Fosse in 2023.
