کراچی میں دو گھنٹوں کے دوران فائرنگ کے تین واقعات، خوف و ہراس پھیل گیا

کراچی: شہر قائد ایک بار پھر فائرنگ کے واقعات کی زد میں آگیا۔ جمعے کے روز صرف دو گھنٹوں کے دوران مختلف علاقوں میں تین افراد جان کی بازی ہار گئے، جس سے شہر بھر میں خوف و ہراس پھیل گیا۔

پولیس کے مطابق پہلا واقعہ ناظم آباد نمبر 3 میں پیش آیا، جہاں ذبیر نامی شخص کو گولیاں مار کر ہلاک کردیا گیا۔ پولیس حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ واقعہ ڈکیتی کا نتیجہ نہیں لگتا کیونکہ مقتول سے کچھ بھی نہیں چھینا گیا۔

اسی دوران شیر شاہ کے علاقے میں ایک اور شخص کو فائرنگ کر کے قتل کردیا گیا۔ پولیس نے بتایا کہ مقتول کی شناخت فی الحال نہیں ہوسکی، جبکہ ایس ایس پی کیماڑی نے بھی اس بات کی تصدیق کی کہ مقتول سے کوئی قیمتی سامان نہیں چھینا گیا۔

ادھر کورنگی میں ایک مختلف صورتحال سامنے آئی، جہاں ایک شہری نے مبینہ ڈاکوؤں پر فائرنگ کر دی۔ نتیجے میں ایک ڈاکو ہلاک ہوگیا جبکہ اس کا ساتھی فرار ہونے میں کامیاب ہوگیا۔ پولیس کا کہنا ہے کہ یہ واقعہ شہر میں بڑھتے مسلح مقابلوں اور عوامی بے بسی کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔

ان واقعات نے شہریوں میں شدید تشویش پیدا کردی ہے، خاص طور پر اس وقت جب کراچی میں اسٹریٹ کرائم اور ٹارگٹ کلنگ کے بڑھتے واقعات پہلے ہی عوام کو غیر محفوظ کر چکے ہیں۔ پولیس نے تینوں واقعات کی تحقیقات شروع کر دی ہیں۔

کرائم ریٹ میں کمی کا دعویٰ

دلچسپ بات یہ ہے کہ انہی واقعات سے قبل ایڈیشنل آئی جی کراچی جاوید عالم اوڈھو نے ایک پریس کانفرنس میں دعویٰ کیا تھا کہ 2025 کے ابتدائی آٹھ ماہ کے دوران شہر میں سنگین جرائم کی شرح میں 32 فیصد کمی واقع ہوئی ہے۔

ان کے مطابق:

قتل کے واقعات میں 30 فیصد کمی

اسٹریٹ کرائم میں 16 فیصد کمی

ڈکیتی کے کیسز میں 20 فیصد کمی

گاڑیاں چوری ہونے کے واقعات میں 9 فیصد کمی ریکارڈ کی گئی۔

پولیس حکام کے مطابق ان کامیابیوں کا سہرا بہتر حکمتِ عملی، بروقت انٹیلی جنس اور منظم گینگز کے خلاف سخت آپریشنز کو جاتا ہے۔ صرف آٹھ ماہ میں پولیس نے 2,452 ملزمان کو گرفتار کیا، 62 مغوی شہری بازیاب کروائے، 611 جرائم پیشہ عناصر کو مقابلوں کے بعد گرفتار کیا، جبکہ 94 ہلاک اور 626 زخمی ہوئے۔

مزید برآں اینٹی وہیکل لفٹنگ سیل (AVLC) نے کار چوری میں ملوث 62 گروہوں کو گرفتار کیا اور 23 گاڑیاں برآمد کیں۔

ایڈیشنل آئی جی نے عزم ظاہر کیا کہ کراچی پولیس آنے والے دنوں میں مزید سخت اقدامات کے ذریعے اسٹریٹ کرائم پر قابو پانے اور شہریوں کو تحفظ فراہم کرنے کے لیے پرعزم ہے۔

Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the Sindh government is always active in providing relief to the people during natural disasters and emergencies. During relief operations, victims are not only being moved to safe places, but full arrangements are also being made for their food, water, medical treatment, and animal care.

In a statement, he said that the Sindh government will not leave the people alone and will stand with them in every time of need. All government institutions, district administrations, and rescue teams are working day and night to help the victims so that as many lives and properties as possible can be saved.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that there is a high flood level in Guddu and Sukkur, while the flood level in Kotri is low. In the last 24 hours, 3,522 people have been moved to safer places in the province, bringing the total number of people relocated to 173,027. Out of these, 469 people are still staying in relief camps.

He said that 183 fixed and mobile health sites are operating in the province, where more than 4,174 patients were treated in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of patients treated so far to 92,958.

He added that the Sindh government is also taking steps to protect livestock. In the last 24 hours, 3,192 cattle were moved to safer places, bringing the total to 450,571. Similarly, in the last 24 hours, 39,589 cattle were provided with vaccines and medical facilities, bringing the total number of treated and vaccinated cattle to 1,305,573.

KARACHI (Sept 15): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr. Musadik Malik, discussed launching a 300-day Climate Action Plan ahead of the upcoming monsoon, improving Sukkura Barrage capacity, reinforcing fragile embankments of the River Indus, and restoring old waterways to prevent loss of lives and property during riverine and flash floods.
The meeting, held at CM House on Monday, was attended by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah and Principal Secretary Agha Wasif.
The CM and the visiting federal minister agreed to develop a 300-day Climate Action Plan to prepare for the upcoming monsoon season, which is expected to begin 15 days earlier than usual. All four provincial governments will present their proposals, including necessary projects, under this plan. It was noted that proactive measures could significantly reduce damages caused by heavy rains and riverine floods.
Both sides acknowledged that Pakistan is facing severe losses due to climate change and emphasised the need for global support to minimise the damage. The meeting also agreed on strengthening the carbon credit market. “The federal government will fully support provinces in opening the carbon credit market,” said Dr. Musadik Malik.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said Sindh had already initiated carbon credit marketing and stressed the need to expand it further. He pointed out that this year’s challenges were compounded by riverine floods. Highlighting the situation at Sukkur Barrage, the CM said its originally designed capacity was 1.5 million cusecs, but due to hydraulic issues and closure of 10 gates, the capacity has reduced to 960,000 cusecs. “We must enhance Sukkur Barrage’s capacity,” he emphasised.
Murad Shah also expressed concern over the fragile condition of some embankments along the Indus River. He noted that Japan is assisting Sindh in strengthening these embankments, particularly the KK Bund and Qadirpur-Shank Bund, and expressed hope that the projects would materialise soon.
The Chief Minister underlined the importance of restoring natural waterways to manage monsoon floods. “After the construction of barrages in the 1930s, the Katcha region came into existence, altering the natural flow,” he said, adding that Sindh has 14 canals and both the Right Bank and Left Bank of the Indus must have their natural drainage paths restored.
Mr Shah, explaining the situation, said that on the Right Bank, hill torrents bring heavy inflows into Manchhar Lake, from where water is released into the river through two canals. “We need to enhance the capacity of these canals,” he noted.
The water from Manchar Lake is released toward the Indus mainly through the Aral (Aral Wah / Aral channel) system (including the Aral head/tail regulators) and the Danister (Danister Wah / Danister Canal). “We have improved and remodelled both the channels, but still they need some interventions,” the CM said.
On the Left Bank, rainfall from Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Tharparkar, and Umerkot districts also requires natural outlets. Historically, the Hakro River carried this flow, but with the construction of the Left Bank Outfall Drain (LBOD), natural passages were blocked, causing widespread destruction during rains. Murad Shah said and added that his government had revived Dhoro Puran, which was inaugurated in 2024, as part of efforts to restore natural flows. He urged the federal government to support Sindh in increasing the Sukkur Barrage’s capacity.
Federal Minister Musadik Malik assured Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah of full cooperation and reiterated that international assistance is essential to tackle the adverse impacts of climate change. The meeting also decided to modernise the weather forecasting system, ensuring timely alerts and preparedness.
At the conclusion, the chief minister and the federal minister agreed to constitute a `working group’ under Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah so that the 300-Action Plan could be prepared within two weeks.

The Sindh Transport Department has officially launched an online portal for issuing and registering route permits for commercial vehicles. Under this new system, the entire process of issuing route permits and certificates will now be conducted online, while the manual system has been abolished.

Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that all relevant stakeholders have been informed about this change to ensure a smooth and transparent transition.

He explained that in 2024, the Transport Department initiated the “Automation of PTAs, RTAs and MVIs” project to digitalize the province’s transport system. In the first phase, an online portal for vehicle registration, physical inspection, and issuance of fitness certificates was launched in March 2025.

Sharjeel Inam Memon further said that two new vehicle fitness centers have been established in Karachi, one at Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Terminal in Malir and the other at Ibrahim Hyderi in Korangi. In just four months, more than 35,000 vehicles have been issued fitness certificates, while data of unfit vehicles is also being shared with the Traffic Police and Motorway Police.

He added that the department has decided to set up more fitness centers in divisional headquarters across Sindh, including Karachi, so that this facility can reach a larger number of vehicles.

Through the new online system, transporters will be able to apply for the issuance or renewal of route permits without visiting the office. Vehicle owners will also receive SMS alerts 15 days before the expiry of their permits.

The Senior Minister said that this digitalization system will promote transparency, cancel unused permits, and significantly increase the department’s revenue.

کراچی: معروف سوشل میڈیا چائلڈ اسٹار احمد شاہ کے چھوٹے بھائی عمر شاہ انتقال کر گئے۔ یہ خبر اہلِ خانہ نے سوشل میڈیا پر ایک دلخراش پیغام کے ذریعے مداحوں کو دی۔ احمد شاہ نے اپنی پوسٹ میں لکھا:
"ہمارے گھر کا ننھا ستارہ عمر شاہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے حضور لوٹ گیا ہے۔"

عمر شاہ بھی اپنے بڑے بھائی احمد شاہ کی طرح سوشل میڈیا پر نہایت مقبول تھے۔ احمد شاہ کی ویڈیوز میں ان کی موجودگی اور معصوم انداز مداحوں کے دل جیت لیتے تھے۔ ان کے انتقال کی خبر نے مداحوں اور سوشل میڈیا صارفین کو غمزدہ کر دیا ہے۔

سیاسی، سماجی اور شوبز حلقوں کی جانب سے بھی عمر شاہ کے انتقال پر افسوس کا اظہار کیا گیا ہے اور مرحوم کے درجات کی بلندی کے لیے دعا کی گئی ہے۔

The master plan will integrate Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) systems, metro light rail, and the revival of the Karachi Circular Railway to provide modern and sustainable mobility solutions.

According to ministry sources, the registration process continues through the official online portal. Previously, pilgrims were required to complete registration by September 8.
