Google has officially opened its first local office in Pakistan right here in Islamabad. 🇵🇰
And this is more than just a new office.
After years of working in Pakistan, Google now has an official presence on the ground. This could mean stronger support for the country’s IT sector, digital skills, startups, jobs and future investment as Pakistan continues to build its technology ecosystem.
There’s also big news for students: Google has announced one year of free Gemini access for Pakistani students. With formal details expected soon, this could give young people a valuable opportunity to explore AI for learning, projects and building skills for the digital economy.
The real impact, however, will depend on how well Pakistan turns this opportunity into skills, innovation, jobs and global opportunities for its youth.
