Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a 100MW solar power project for Gilgit-Baltistan along with major electricity initiatives for Gwadar to ensure uninterrupted and affordable power supply.

The project includes rooftop and large-scale so_l_ar systems to be completed by 2027, with officials saying the joint initiative will help save around Rs1 billion annually while supporting industrial growth.

Five Pakistani nationals were deported from Sharjah after authorities discovered they were trying to travel to the UK using fake visas, the FIA confirmed. The visas were allegedly obtained with the help of human smuggling agents.

All five individuals had previously traveled to Malaysia on visit visas earlier this year. Upon detection, Sharjah authorities immediately sent them back to Pakistan, and they were taken into custody at Lahore Airport.
