Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited
Spring Sowing Ceremony of New Sugarcane Varieties J16-639 and SL-284
Under the supervision of Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited, the spring sowing of new sugarcane varieties J16-639 and SL-284 was inaugurated at the farm of progressive grower Mr. Naeem Abbas Hondal.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Resident Director Mr. Mehmood-ul-Hassan Khilji, who formally commenced the sowing by cutting the ribbon. He was accompanied by General Manager Cane Mr. Mian Nasiruddin Ahmed Farooqi.
The event was attended by Cane Manager Mr. Kamaluddin Jumani, Deputy Cane Managers Mr. Mushtaque Hussain Khuhro, Mr. Irshad Ali Simair, Mr. Javed Ahmed Farooqui, and Mr. Parvez Ahmed Mahar.
Mr. Naeem Abbas Hondal warmly welcomed the distinguished guests with bouquets of flowers.
After the inauguration, a special prayer was offered for a successful crop and prosperity of the growers.
Addressing the gathering, the Resident Director emphasized the importance of cultivating high-yield and quality sugarcane varieties such as CSSG-676, J16-639, CPF-237, and CPF-253, so that both the mill and the farmers may benefit. He further highlighted that these varieties can be easily multiplied for large-scale adoption in the area.
All participants appreciated the efforts of Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited in promoting modern sugarcane varieties and supporting the development of growers.
After the ceremony, Roza-e-Iftar was generously hosted by Mr. Naeem Abbas Hondal in honor of the guests.

A meeting was held at the Cane Office by the Cane Department under the chairmanship of the Honourable Resident Director, Mr. Mahmood-ul-Hassan Khilji Sahib, with the presence of senior management including the General Manager, DGM Admin, Cane Manager, and Deputy Cane Managers. More than 50 growers from the Factory Gate and Tando Masti Sector attended the meeting.
Representatives from Fatima Fertilizer Company, Bayer Company, Fauji Fertilizer Company, and FMC Company briefed the growers on their respective products, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and the proper usage of approved fertilizers and crop protection inputs. The session was interactive and informative.

Field Visit Update – Saidi Shakh & Sector Jadowahan
Today, a comprehensive field visit was conducted at Saidi Shakh and Sector Jadowahan DCM Javed Ahmed Farooqui Sahib and DCM Parvez Ahmed Mahar Sahib.
🔹 Saidi Shakh Visit
During the visit, they inspected the J16-639 variety, where germination has started and is showing excellent results. We also reviewed the standing crop of YTFG-236 at the farms of progressive growers Haji Abdul Rasheed Abbasi Sahib and Haji Muhammad Panah Abbasi Sahib. The crop condition of both varieties is very good.
The visit was carried out together with the Sector Incharge and the Field Man.
🔹 Sector Jadowahan Visit
In Sector Jadowahan, they visited the field of grower Munir Ahmed Arain. A sugarcane variety was found which the grower was unsure about, and DCM Parvez Ahmed Mahar Sahib identified and guided him regarding the variety, also checked the J16-639 variety of progressive growers Khalil Anwar Arain Sahib and Jameel Ahmed Arain Sahib, where the crop condition is satisfactory and the variety is performing well.
