From Batkhila to Culinary Stardom: The Story of Tahir Khan
From the small village of Batkhila, KP – Tahir Khan always dreamt big. His journey began early—learning computers in 3rd grade. After exploring computer hardware, he moved to Saudi Arabia, working as a photographer and later as a graphic designer. His passion for content creation led him to become the first vlogger from the Pakhtoon community, sharing his life and inspiring others online.
Tahir took a leap of faith, leaving behind a stable job to pursue his creative dreams. After facing tough times, he returned to Pakistan and started a travel agency. Then came COVID-19, bringing unexpected setbacks. But true to his nature, Tahir turned the challenge into an opportunity—and launched Tahir Khan Restaurant (TKR) in December 2020.
The Beginning of TKR
Inspired by a love for bold, blended flavors, TKR started in a cozy corner of Islamabad. Initially named “Tahir Khan Restaurant & Shanwari Foods,” it was rebranded to TKR within three months. Known for innovative dishes, warm hospitality, and signature meals like Tahir’s Signature Spice Delight, TKR quickly won hearts.
Expansion & Growth
In the same month it launched, TKR opened a second branch on 2nd March 2021, then a third on 20th August 2022 in Shakarparian—introducing elevated takes on traditional recipes like Dum Pukht. A fourth branch soon followed in Bahria Town Phase 4, officially opening on 5th April 2024, making TKR a fast-growing culinary brand.
TKR’s success isn’t just about great food—it’s about vision, passion, and perseverance. From a small team, it has grown into a symbol of innovation and excellence.
But Tahir’s impact goes further. As a committed social worker, he focuses on uplifting his community and creating real opportunities for others.
His journey proves that with heart, hustle, and purpose—you can overcome anything.
