Joint Statement on the Talks Between Afghanistan and Pakistan Through the Mediation of Türkiye and Qatar, 30 October 2025

1. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Türkiye and Qatar held meetings in Istanbul from 25-30 October 2025 aimed at solidifying the ceasefire which was agreed by Afghanistan and Pakistan in Doha on 18-19 October 2025 with the mediation of Türkiye and Qatar.
2. All parties have agreed on continuation of ceasefire.
3. Further modalities of the implementation will be discussed and decided in a Principal level meeting in Istanbul on 6 November 2025.
4. All parties have agreed to put in place a monitoring and verification mechanism that will ensure maintenance of peace and imposing penalty on the violating party.
5. As mediators, Türkiye and Qatar express their appreciation for the active contribution of both parties and stand ready to continue cooperation with both sides for lasting peace and stability.

A top leader of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and the former Deputy Chief of the group, Qari Amjid alias M***i Muzahim has been killed in an Intelligence Based Operation in Bajaur district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province early morning, Senior Pakistani Officials told The Khorasan Diary.

He remained on key positions of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan as its deputy leader, shadow defence minister and a member of the leadership council.

Amjid had been designated a Specially Designated Global Terrorist by U.S State Department in Nov, 2022.

Istanbul talks between Pakistan - Taliban regime on the request of mediators after the Taliban regime reached out to the mediators, will restart TODAY, in the afternoon at the hotel in Istanbul after Taliban signalled to "revision of their position".
Pakistan has decided to continue with negotiations in Istanbul and give it one more chance after mediators reached out to Pak following Afghan Taliban regime's plea -- Pakistan's core demand to take verifiable and irreverisble action against terrorists operating from Afghan soil.

Major diplomatic breakthrough after the Doha peace accord Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed in principle to reopen the border within the next 24–48 hours, diplomatic sources tell Geo News. “If there is no other negative development , would open the borders,” a key diplomatic official told this correspondent. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been named captain of the Pakistan men’s ODI team. The left-arm fast bowler will lead Pakistan in the three-match ODI series against South Africa, scheduled to take place at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from 4 to 8 November.

Shaheen’s appointment for the upcoming series was finalised today following a meeting held in Islamabad, which was attended by white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, Director High Performance Aqib Javed and members of the selection committee.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday discussed rising tensions between the Punjab and Sindh governments as the coalition allies continued to trade barbs over multiple issues.

A post on X from the presidency said that Zardari and Naqvi held a telephonic conversation today related to the ongoing row between the PPP and PML-N.

“President Asif Ali Zardari spoke to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi over the phone to discuss the recent tensions between the Sindh and Punjab governments. The president has called the interior minister to Karachi for an urgent meeting in this regard,” the post said.
