The residents of Lahore's Durogewala UC 141 Khajurwali Scheme are facing severe problems due to the incompetence of the local administration in managing water drainage.Stagnant dirty water is entering the houses and piles of dirt are accumulating, which is spreading diseases among children. To deal with this problem, the people of the area strongly appeal to the Chief Minister of Punjab,Maryam Nawaz Sahiba,to take immediate and strict notice of this issue. And direct local authorities to prioritize the cleaning and sanitation of drains before the monsoon season to ensure efficient water flow.Invest in upgrading existing drainage infrastructure to prevent water stagnation, including construction of new drains and rehabilitation of old ones.Implement measures to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases, such as providing clean water, sanitation facilities, and medical assistance to affected residents.Establish a system to hold local authorities accountable for their actions and monitor the progress of drainage works to ensure timely completion. Similar issues have been addressed in other cities through anti-encroachment campaigns and drainage cleaning operations. For example,in Nowshera, the district administration launched an anti-encroachment campaign to remove debris and unauthorized constructions that obstructed the natural flow of water. This effort highlights the importance of proactive measures to prevent urban flooding and water stagnation. The citizens further say that by taking these steps,Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sahiba can help us reduce the suffering of the residents of Drogewala UC 141 Khajurwali Scheme and ensure a healthy, safe environment for them.7point network
