A fiercely-contested match ended all square, as Pakistan and Afghanistan their second draw in 5 days in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers.

Solano's side conceded an early opener from a corner, but came back into the game thanks to a moment of magic from Etzaz Hussain, who scored his debut goal for the Shaheens. Pakistan then grew stronger as the match went on, but couldn't capitalize on some good chances.

Pakistan have a lot to build on for their next match at HOME against Syria on 18th November.

Pakistan were unlucky not to get a win against Afghanistan on their return back home after over a year, but still showed lots of promise for both Nolberto Solano and the Pakistan football fans to be happy about.

A missed penalty from Otis Khan plus a couple of good chances meant a possible first win after two years could not be achieved, but flashes of quality from debutants Etzaz Hussain and Faraz Gulzari, along with returnees like Otis Khan and Kaleemullah, have given us lots to be excited about.

Pakistan will now play a return match against Afghanistan on 14th October at 10 pm Pakistan time.
