The emergency measure at Qadirabad dam on the Chenab River aimed to reduce water pressure and prevent structural failure amid unprecedented monsoon flooding.

ISLAMABAD Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday for a three-day official visit at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.
Dar received Yi at Nur Khan Airbase, where senior officials from the foreign ministry and the Chinese Embassy were also present.

Electricity supply to several offices of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Karachi was abruptly disrupted on Thursday, ARY News reported citing sources.
The outage affected the PIA Engineering Division, including the Ispahani Hangar, where critical aircraft maintenance work was underway.
Sources confirmed that the power cut caused serious interruptions to aircraft servicing and inspections.
In addition, the offices of PIA Aircraft Engineers were also impacted, creating operational difficulties and delays in routine tasks.

LAHORE: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has sentenced PTI leaders Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhary, and others, while acquitting the party’s vice chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, in the Jinnah House attack case, ARY News reported.

FAISALABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday arrested Hassan Raza in Faisalabad over his alleged involvement in a Rs36.2 million bank fraud case.

Officials said Raza, wanted by the FIA, was apprehended from the Hasanpura area. Two co-accused Usman, a branch manager, and Shahzad, a relationship manager are already in custody.

In addition to the bank fraud allegations, Raza is also accused in eight separate dacoity cases.
