According to official sources, any increase in the salaries of provincial government employees will be aligned with the pay raise announced by the federal government in the upcoming national budget. The move is aimed at maintaining uniformity in compensation structures across federal and provincial institutions.

Budget estimates indicate that approximately Rs650 billion has been earmarked for the payment of salaries to government employees, while pension obligations are projected to consume around Rs505.8 billion during the next fiscal year. These allocations reflect the growing financial burden of employee-related expenditures on the provincial treasury.

Sources further revealed that Punjab expects to generate nearly Rs1.33 trillion through provincial revenues, which will serve as a key component of the government’s financing strategy. Revenue collection efforts are expected to focus on strengthening tax administration and improving non-tax income streams
