🔑 Long-Tail vs. Short-Tail Keywords – What’s the Difference?
When doing keyword research for SEO, you’ll come across two types: short-tail and long-tail keywords. Both are important—but they serve different goals.
👉 Short-Tail Keywords
1–2 words (e.g., “shoes,” “digital marketing”)
High search volume
Very competitive
Less specific = lower conversion rates
👉 Long-Tail Keywords
3+ words (e.g., “best running shoes for flat feet”)
Lower search volume
Less competition
Highly specific = higher conversion rates
🎯 Short-tail = traffic
🎯 Long-tail = targeted leads
Pro Tip: Use a mix of both, but focus more on long-tail keywords to reach people who know exactly what they want.
