🏏 **PCB–Sky Sports controversy takes a new turn at Lord’s**

An interview with Imran Khan’s sons, Kasim and Sulaiman, aired during the rain-delayed lunch interval of the Pakistan–England Test — prompting a formal complaint from the PCB.

Reports said PCB officials even considered keeping Pakistan off the field. Pakistan ultimately returned and play continued.

But head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed says the **players themselves didn’t know about the reported situation** and were always going to play.

💬 **Should political interviews be part of a cricket broadcast? What’s your take?**

China to strengthen Islamabad’s emergency response with 21 modern fire & rescue vehicles 🇵🇰🇨🇳🚒

The new fleet, valued at around Rs 3 billion, is expected to arrive in Pakistan in September. It includes an advanced 88-metre snorkel fire tender, significantly improving Islamabad’s capacity for firefighting and high-rise rescue operations.

The upgrade comes as Islamabad moves to modernize its ageing fire and rescue infrastructure.

Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has publicly backed calls for the dignified treatment of former Pakistan captain and PM Imran Khan.

Supporting Greg Chappell and other former international captains, Cummins said he hopes the court-ordered medical assessment is allowed to proceed and that Khan’s family visits continue, adding that Imran Khan deserves to be treated with dignity.

His statement comes after 22 former international cricket captains, including Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Allan Border and Steve Waugh, renewed their appeal for proper medical care and humane treatment for Imran Khan.

Pakistan’s Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has made a shocking admission in Parliament: around 400,000 children aged 1–5 reportedly die every year in Pakistan, roughly 1,300 every day, with many deaths considered preventable through timely healthcare.

His remarks come just days after the PIMS Hospital fire in Islamabad killed 14 newborns, triggering widespread outrage and demands for accountability.

If the government acknowledges that thousands of children are dying from preventable causes, the question is unavoidable: who is responsible for fixing a healthcare system that continues to fail Pakistan’s children?

Tragedy at PIMS Hospital Islamabad: a fire broke out early Wednesday morning in the Mother and Child Health Ward, killing 15 newborns, according to hospital officials and government authorities.

The PIMS Hospital fire reportedly began around 6:45–7:00 a.m., with an AC compressor/electrical fault identified as the suspected cause. Sixteen newborns were reportedly inside the nursery; only one survived. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered a high-level investigation, while the health secretary was suspended.

A tense confrontation at Sarhad University reportedly escalated after Pakistan Army officer Asfandyar Shahzad got into a heated altercation with protesting students. In the footage, the officer is seen striking a student with an official stick before students confront and beat him.

The situation then takes a serious turn as the officer pulls out a pistol and appears to attempt firing toward the students. The weapon seemingly does not fire, after which he raises it into the air and fires a shot skyward.

The incident has sparked serious questions over the use of fi****ms during a student protest and the escalation of the confrontation.

Last night in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, around 2–3 AM, many people witnessed and recorded a strange sight across the night sky: almost continuous flashes of lightning that appeared to keep blinking for nearly an hour.

This can happen during a highly active thunderstorm when frequent intracloud or cloud-to-cloud lightning occurs. In some cases, “anvil crawler” lightning spreads through the upper, flattened part of a thunderstorm, producing repeated flashes that can make the entire sky appear to flicker.

The phenomenon is spectacular, but it also indicates significant electrical activity within a thunderstorm.

GTA 6 leaks are getting even more serious. CyberLeek, the alleged hacker behind the recent leaks, claims to have access to a complete PC build of Rockstar’s highly anticipated game — despite GTA 6 currently being announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no official PC release date.

Multiple gameplay clips have already surfaced, but the biggest question remains: does the hacker really have the full PC build, including the game’s ending, or is this simply a claim to attract attention?

Rockstar has yet to officially confirm these claims. Until then, be careful with alleged GTA 6 downloads circulating online, as they could contain malware.

The government has accused Imran Khan’s PTI and his family of contempt of court, with Information Minister Attaullah Tarar saying their political statements and media appearances amounted to a violation of the Supreme Court’s directions.

But the controversy raises another question: if the government insists it respects the Supreme Court’s orders, why was Khan taken to PIMS instead of Shifa International Hospital, the private facility specifically named in the court’s August 18 order? PTI has now filed a contempt petition, alleging the government failed to implement the order.

Fresh reports indicate that Imran Khan may be on his way from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad, as heavy police and security deployments have been reported around the hospital. Roads and entrances are under tight VVIP security, with media and unauthorised people being pushed back.

Reports suggest Khan is expected to be accommodated on the hospital’s Executive Floor (E4), which has reportedly been cleared and secured exclusively for his stay. Only designated doctors and healthcare staff with special passes are expected to have access, while mobile phones and unauthorised entry may be restricted.
