Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology in Lahore, promising advanced and free cardiac treatment for Punjab’s residents.
The facility features modern cardiac equipment, a hybrid catheterisation laboratory, internationally equipped wards, and trained medical staff. Heart transplant procedures are set to begin from Saturday, alongside plans for a dedicated heart transplant fund.
Maryam also highlighted Punjab’s expanding healthcare initiatives, including air ambulance services, home dialysis, free stroke-prevention injections, and Clinics on Wheels. She said the government aims to ensure quality healthcare is accessible without requiring patients to travel to other cities.
