Lahore has once again topped the global pollution charts, surpassing Delhi to become the world’s most polluted city, with an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of 404.
Some parts of the city recorded alarmingly high pollution levels Rytgan Road at 680, Johar Town at 673, and Gulberg at 543.
Smog and air pollution continue to worsen across Punjab due to vehicle emissions, industrial smoke, crop burning, and cross border haze drifting in from India.
Faisalabad and Lahore are grappling with severe traffic and industrial emissions, Karachi faces pollution from port operations, while Islamabad and Rawalpindi are affected by construction dust and vehicle smoke.
Authorities have urged citizens to stay indoors, keep windows closed, and wear masks when going outside. Meanwhile, dry weather is expected across the country, with colder temperatures in northern and hilly regions.
