اِنَّاۤ اَنْزَلْنٰهُ فِیْ لَیْلَةِ الْقَدْرِۚۖ۝ وَ مَاۤ اَدْرٰىكَ مَا لَیْلَةُ الْقَدْرِؕ۝ لَیْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ۙ۬ خَیْرٌ مِّنْ اَلْفِ شَهْرٍؕؔ۝ تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةُ وَ الرُّوْحُ فِیْهَا بِاِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ مِنْ كُلِّ اَمْرٍۙۛ۝ سَلٰمٌ ۛ۫ هِیَ حَتّٰی مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ۠۝

القرآن، الْقَدْر، 97: 1-5

بیشک ہم نے اِس (قرآن) کو شبِ قدر میں اتارا ہے۔ اور آپ کیا سمجھے ہیں (کہ) شبِ قدر کیا ہے؟ شبِ قدر (فضیلت و برکت اور اَجر و ثواب میں) ہزار مہینوں سے بہتر ہے۔ اِس (رات) میں فرشتے اور روح الامین (جبرائیلؑ) اپنے رب کے حکم سے (خیر و برکت کے) ہر امر کے ساتھ اترتے ہیں۔ یہ (رات) طلوعِ فجر تک (سراسر) سلامتی ہے۔

Surely, We sent down this (Holy Qur’an) during the Night of Destiny. And what have you made out what the Night of Destiny is? The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months (in merit, blessings, reward and recompense). The angels and the Spirit of Peace (Gabriel) descend by their Lord’s command during this (night) with decrees concerning all matters (of blessings and bounties). This (night) is (absolute) peace and security till daybreak.
