In a concerning yet somewhat unusual incident in Kolkata, India, a distressed man contemplating sui*cide by climbing a bridge was persuaded by the police using a unique approach. The 40-year-old man abruptly stopped his bike near the bridge while traveling with his eldest daughter to Science City.

According to the daughter, her father had mentioned losing his phone on the road and was searching for it. However, he left her alone and started climbing the bridge using the cables leading to the top. The police intervened and, in an attempt to convince him to descend, offered him biryani from a reputed restaurant and promised him a job.

The incident caused a disruption in traffic on one of Kolkata's busiest roads for nearly half an hour, as confirmed by a police officer from the Karaya station. Reports indicated that the man was facing significant stress due to his separation from his wife, who had left home with their youngest daughter, along with financial difficulties resulting from a business loss.
