The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a decisive move to safeguard the integrity of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) by banning all “un-Islamic” sponsors.

Under the new framework, franchise agreements will strictly prohibit advertising related to betting, gambling, alcohol, to***co, or any products deemed inappropriate by government policy. This step comes after past controversies involving surrogate advertising, where betting companies disguised their names to appear during PSL matches.

The PCB’s decision reflects a broader effort to maintain the league’s clean, transparent image while respecting religious and cultural sensitivities. In addition, franchises will face stricter financial conditions, including advance fee deposits, ensuring accountability and discipline in operations.
